N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi All, to those of you who received calls can you please list ship and unit.

Comment by Penny on October 15, 2015 at 9:58pm

Also received our call today.  So excited.  Much more time than I expected.  He said all the guys are doing well and they are getting more workout time than he expected during boot camp.  He was pleased with that.  He said they are keeping them busy so time is flying.  He said his division is Week 1 day 5 and are rushing because of early graduation.  I was out running around so he got off with me in time so he could also call his dad at home.  Said he was able to buy a phone card so didn't need me to send one.  Said he will get two more calls home.  The last will be the "I'm a sailor" call.   He said he is keeping a piece of paper in his bunk so he can keep track of what day of the week it is and the date.  Too funny.

My sons Lead recruiter said when they got their racks dumped...not only did they strip the racks, they took the mattresses and everything and piled into one big pile for the recruits to sort them out. He was so taken aback by it. He's from another country and it just shocked him. He's the nicest guy. Big heart. My son enlisted and was gone in three weeks (No DEP) and he felt bad they couldnt prepare him more. He did well though and graduated on time :-) My son had very nice recruiters.

This kind of stuff is all what some would call "mind games ". I don't really like that term because it's really not a game.

We hear so much about physical tests, medical tests and academic tests etc...but your strength of mind, mental fortitude is a big factor to be in the military.

You walk in and see this mess and how do you deal with it?

It also provides an opportunity for teamwork and leadership skills.

NavyDad:  Once you accept a friend request, you can send messages directly to that person's inbox.  Emails.  They are private,  That is what I suggest everyone on here to do if you want to disclose lots of personal info with another person.  We like to keep personal info, like phone numbers, personal email addresses, full names, etc...off of the public pages.  People can check their Inbox, to the left/top of this page, for any message they may have.

NavyDad:  I'm going to friend request you so I can talk more specifically about your questions.  Some of it, like dates for BattleStations, we cannot discuss here.

Punkysmomma:  They take the sheets/blanket/pillow on their bed and dump it on the floor and make them start again and do it right.
