N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hoping that those waiting for their SRs to retake PFA and pass get some good news on Monday....that they passed their PFAs and are doing BattleStations that night.  May they have wings on their feet!  This happens in every PIR group and causes havoc for not only the SRs but their families.  Some go ahead with plans to travel to Chicago even without the I'm a Sailor call....and go to gate at RTC on PIR morning hoping their "sailor's" name is there.  If not, no entry allowed.  Sad, but at least you were there if your SR is now a sailor.  No, you would not be allowed to see him/her in that case.....sorry.  Others have cancelled plans only to find out that their SR passed at the last minute, did BattleStations the night before PIR, and was there.  I know it is so hard for all....a personal decision each has to make on their own if you do not hear from your SR/sailor.

Captains Cup should have happened this morning for this group!  Hope they had fun and you will find out the winners probably Mon or Tues when RTC FB posts them.

NavyDad:  I agree with FTLW.  Thinking he will stay at GL to recover, on hold, until he is declared Fit for Duty, then will be released to A School.  How long that will take is anyone's guess.  The GOOD news is that he probably will be able to have his phone and personal items there at RTC after PIR because he is on medical hold.  Not positive on that, but think so.  He will have much more info for you when you see him at PIR.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on November 21, 2015 at 1:59pm

NavyDad - As far as the medical...I'm sorry I have no clue. It has to be some kind of medical hold/leave. Im sure he'll have to be declared FFD (Full Fit for Duty) before traveling .

There is no leave between BC and A school, nor during A school.

Phase up is a term used during A school for increasing Liberty privileges. There are three Phases and each one has qualifications in order to go to the next phase.
