Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 023 and 024
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

I know! Super exciting to see them smiling! Which is yours MommaJ?
So, my son said again in his letter I got today, that he wants to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for Thanksgiving day. He also said in this letter "like half of the division is going there, too". So, if you guys haven't heard, your SR might be planning a B-dubs Thanksgiving :0) Fine by me... I have made like 4 different reservations, but I could care less what we do... whatever he wants to do, I will do (although I am not renting a manual sports car, as he suggested... LOL) Super happy- a quick call, a letter and a picture all within 24 hours! And, ladies, I will not be this obnoxious at the meet and greet... looking at all the posts I have made! haha!
addgrey: She is on the right end, second (or third) row up...hard to distinguish with all the heights...with the BCG's on. :)
AND how awesome that we got letters yesterday!! I thought they would come today, with Veteran's Day closing the government offices down. I definitely needed all that to get me through the last few weeks...strange, it seems like it's harder now, being so close to seeing them, than when she first left.
OH, and addgrey, I love all your posts!! I'm not promising anything for the meet and greet...I am as cra-cray as my posts ;) But I told my SR I'd behave myself at the graduation...can't promise much after that!!
Enjoy your Friday ladies!!
:0) I am sure we will get along well. After 19 years of living with me, my son has no expectations for my behavior- if I was acting "normal" he would think something was wrong!... not even one comment back from him when I said my hair would be Navy for graduation... :0)
I totally agree on it seeming harder now- I was a complete mess early this week... worse than right after he left!
Good to know addgrey, I will be sure to ask him if he would rather go to buffalo wild wings. You know what as excited as they are to see family I 'm sure they will feel weird to just not spend the day with each other huh? I sure hope my son has made lasting friendships and that he has met people that will also go on to Pensacola with him.
We got letters yesterday?? Can you believe I didn't even check my mail?? I was for certain there would be nothing until today!! running now!
Did you get one? :0) Be glad it is warm at your mailbox- here is mine... (if you click on the picture, though, you can see our beautiful mountains!) :0)
addgrey: Buffalo Wild Wings?!? Too funny :) My SR hasn't said anything yet, maybe it's just the guys talking about that. But...they have been side by side, 24/7, for the past 6 weeks...I am sure even if they are making each other crazy, they still will miss each other!
I'm so glad you are going with the Navy hair!! I should look for some kind of anchor nose stud! ;)
I am sure it was posted, but I'm to lazy to dig back through all of the messages. How do we find each other at the meet and greet? Do we have some type of table flag, or something, with the ship/div on? If not, how do we privately message each other to work on details? I can't wait to meet you ladies! It has been a rough road, but much easier with you all to "talk" to :)
Bookster: Did you get a letter?!? Keeping my fingers crossed, for you all, to hear from your SR's this week!!
We need to write our names here on our name tags, along with our real names. Are any of you on the FB group? I am probably talking to you on both and don't know it! My Facebook name initials are LMS (don't know if we can post our names here??) Definitely an anchor nose stud!
Yes! got a letter. I will not make it to the meet and great but sure hope to meet you guys during graduation! the nose ring and blue hair should be a dead giveaway! ;-)
I was able to print off my parking pass just now.
OMG, OMG, OMG. I received a letter today from the Dept. of the Navy. It was to inform me that my SR has been selected to receive an award for outstanding performance. It will be presented to him at PIR with a cake reception to following for the family. I am on top of the world. I have been crying all day.
