Got my form letter yesterday; my SR is Ship 12 Div 019. I'm looking at plane tickets for that time. On one hand we get extra days with our SR's, with Thanksgiving, on the other tickets are going fast and I don't dare buy a ticket until I'm sure she is graduating on time!

Beaulieu, I haven't checked my mailbox today. I hope it's there; don't want to be disappointed again.

Welcome to the new members!

deidre86:  Their A School is determined by their "job."  What will your future sailor be doing in the Navy?

MommaJ;  So kind of you to do that with the extra letter!  it is so true that not all receive mail, and many will have no one there for them at PIR....understandable in that it is hard for many to travel there.  So anything that others can do for them is so greatly appreciated!  Some families even "adopt" another of their sailor's shipmates for PIR Day....so that he/she has a family to celebrate with!

Good afternoon All!  Our daughter left, for GL, on Oct1st.  We got "the box" this past Tuesday, but haven't gotten the form letter yet.  It was exhilarating opening the box and seeing her things...my only thought was "THIS IS REAL!!"  Can't wait to hear from her, and find out how they all are doing. One thing I am doing is writing an additional "general letter," for anyone who hasn't gotten a letter yet.  Unfortunately not everyone has a loved one that is able to communicate with them.  I really encourage you all to consider doing that also, and asking any friends, relatives, etc, to include one.  I absolutely CANNOT imagine how lonely my daughter would feel, if she didn't know she had our support!  Enjoy your day!!  I look forward to celebrating with you all next month!!
