Good Morning All !
Marissadolphin3: Which A School will your SR be attending? I can direct you to a group then.
Sorry, I had a class and had to go...
Righty-o chowdercall911...no news is good news sometimes :-)
MommaJ: You can also ask you daughter where she will be in the formation of her division. That way, you have a better chance of seeing her! We never spotted my son during the entire PIR. We had no problem finding him afterwards though....in the masses! We were thankful that he ordered the PIR DVD so we were able to see him when he marched past the Review Stand.
It is ok for you all to bring some civilian clothes for your sailor up for PIR weekend. Let him/her pick through them when in your hotel room to see what they want to keep. Those staying in GL for A School will have no problem bringing this clothing back on A School base after Liberty each day. Those flying out can only take a few items that fit in their Seabag or Navy-issued backpack---which you bring to the airport when you meet them to wait for their flights. The rest can be shipped to them when they have phased up and can wear the clothing....but they will have a few personal items to start with until the other clothing gets to them.
Thank you Chowdercall911!! I'm pretty sure we ALL will know you :) You'll be the one with the brand new baby girl, that we'll all be gushing over!!
chowdercall911: Thank you!
OK, I've got one for our eternally patient veterans...I know we are 35 days, 12 hours, etc, etc before PIR :) But how are we going to find our sailor after the ceremony?!? I'm pretty sure we'll be able to spot her, since she is really short, and will most likely be in the front row, but after all is said and done, then what? This living without the instant gratification of email, texts, or phone calls is making my eye twitch!! ;)
