OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 803 and 804

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Is it possible "stick" means they are carrying the flag on a stick while marching?

My SR is a Stick as well, he is in 803

We can tell people to watch the live feed and tell them to look for our division, right?  even though they are 800's - its not much of a secret especially to those writing to them :)

yes Arlene, its ok

Does anyone know anything about the weather, were the tornados near the base??

I "mapquested" the tornadoes. They were all south and southwest of Chicago. Since Great Lakes is north of Chicago, the tornadoes were quite far from our boys.

The ones that caused so much damage happened in the Peoria area, about an hour north of me.  Whole subdivisions were completely destroyed.

Glad your ok and our boys and girls!

Does anyone know what the baskets at the Meet and Greet are about?  A wonderful woman made one from our state, and we are bringing her great basket to the Meet and Greet, but we are wondering what will happen next?

The basket idea is ABSOLUTELY NOT REQUIRED - but I'll try to explain what's going on:

Sarge & his wife put on these Meet & Greet's each week out of their own pockets, only asking for a free will donation to help offset the cost.  About a month ago another PIR group decided to spearhead a basket auction.  They had a great response and donated all proceeds from the auction to Sarge and his wife.  Tina took the helm for our PIR group to try to do the same thing.  It's COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY.  If you've never been to a benefit/fundraiser with baskets, it's just a basket/bucket filled with whatever the creator chooses to include.  Some people are doing 'state' themes (including items that their individual states are known for).  Once at the Meet & Greet on 11/26 for our group, people can buy tickets (if they want to) for chances to win the baskets.

I am also wondering about the baskets. I've looked and looked for the information regarding the baskets and can not find it. I've tried to message the right person. I am wondering what it is, how to participate and when. Thanks for any answers on this:)

There is a discussion forum about the baskets called "Let's have fun and say Thank You to Sarge" under the same list that you choose this discussion. It took me a while to figure it out too.
