For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 019 & 020
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

My daughter said in her last letter that they would be able to start mailing letters more often, but I haven't gotten any letters since then. But I am thinking it is because they are probably busy. Would love to hear if anyone else has heard what's going on in these divisions.

The letters that I have received have slowed down. I too think that they are busy. They should have just completed Week 4 yesterday. My son told that Week 4 is "Hell Week" (lots of inspections), so thank goodness it is over, but maybe that is why they are busy. I will continue to share what ever I think would be interesting to you'all. I hope that everyone will share!

I am really hoping for a letter today, especially since she tried to call on Friday night and we had no cell service where we were at and missed her call. She sounded so upset on the voicemail. I think I am more anxious now than I was in the beginning. I'm sure it will be better after I hear from her again (even in a letter).

I'm so happy I just got a phone call from my SR. She said they start some kind of fire training on Tuesday. She also got Marksman on her first time shooting. I am so proud of my daughter!

My daughter told me to look for her friend's mom on here. Her friend's name is Jessica (div 019).

We got a letter yesterday and a short phone call today. Apparently she was wrong and they are still only able to mail letters on Sunday. She said they let anyone who had not received a demerit and had not gotten in trouble have a phone call as a reward. It worked out great because me, her dad, and her brother were all here and got to talk to her. She sounds really good. She said she earned a ribbon for sharp shooter! She said so far division 20 has earned three flags - academic, athletic, and inspection flags.

TMM our kids are in the same division my Son said they were really doing great glad u got a call I also received one. So proud of them. Hope to see you at graduation

On the phone, my son told me that since they were the first division to start training they will be the first to do Battle Stations and will likely have some time off before PIR. He said that they would of course have to stay on base.

Does anyone know if division 20 has been chosen to be part of the adopt a sailor program for Thanksgiving? My daughter was hoping to be able to go to someone's home or something for Thanksgiving but I haven't heard anything for sure.
