Good evening ladies! Anyone his SR that is grad n go here is a questionaire you can mail them to possibly make things easier to meet up before they fly out on Saturday. Also so additonal info on the USO locations in the Chicago Airports:

Only O'Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW) have USO centers, the airport in Milwaukee (MKE) does not. The USO at O'Hare is located OUTSIDE of the secured area in Terminal 2 above the Delta Airlines Ticket counter - so anyone can access it. The USO at Midway Airport is located INSIDE of the secured area in Concourse C - you must have a boarding pass or courtesy pass to get beyond TSA security area. Both USO's are open 24/7. Quick question for anyone that can answer. We want to go see our daughter Christmas day but we're afraid she won't get our letter saying that we want to come and still have time to get the form filled out and faxed back before the deadline. Is there one of those forms on a web site that we can print out, then fill out, and fax back? Or is it possible to make a copy of someones form that they've received? Just so afraid we won't make the deadline and don't want to miss the chance.

I do not think there is a meet and greet other than the one at Ramada....Jessica was saying that we could all meet there and then go off as a N4M group, out to dinner.

Ok I did get the "christmas paper" and I have filled it out and will be faxing it in the morning. We only live 2.5 hours away from GL and have family in the area.

" Recruits must be picked up between 8:00 am and 9:00am.

Required to be back IN THEIR SHIP(barracks) no later than 8:00pm please allow them 30 minutes for the recruit to walk to his/her ship.

Recruits are required to remain within 50 miles of RTC.
DO NOT EXPECT YOUR RECRUIT TO BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IF YOU DO NOT HAVE COMMUNICATION WITH OUR OFFICE BY DEC 15. DO NOT JUST "SHOW UP" AND PLAN TO SURPRISE THEM"

There are other rules but those are the high points.

this is on the Christmas letter.

If we are going to be in the area, do we need to contact someone that we want to pick our son up for Christmas?

Awwwww, too bad it won't work out.
Comment by navyfam on December 1, 2010 at 6:27pm
Logansmama POA told me she could only go to the friends house (within 50 miles of base) if immediate family picked her up. I know it is a shame but I understand...she was friends with their twin daughters back in elementary school when they lived here in California...now they are all 20!
Comment by lojogo Ship 11 Division 057 on December 1, 2010 at 6:25pm
I guess I misunderstood. I thought all the recruits had to leave for a while on Christmas and either be with family or be adopted. That is too bad your friends can't take him in. I hate to think of my boy without us on Christmas, or us without him. :'(
Comment by navyfam on December 1, 2010 at 6:17pm
Logansmama Yes I agree California is too far away.
Proud of our Son I know I wish I lived in the area as well.

We have friends who live 23 miles away but I called the Public Affairs Office (POA) and they said if they haven't PIR'd they can only go w/immediate family or in a big group.

If they are in A school depending on where they are in their training they can go off base. Apparently they "Phase" up and get more priviledges as time goes on in A school.
