Got my first letter today!!!! I was having a really crappy day until I found it in my mail box, now nothing can bring me down. I still hope that those who haven't received one yet will soon. Hang in there.

I found the best website today. I was browsing for some Christmas gifts and came across CafePress.com. I was able to order a Christmas ornament with logo and name of the submarine that my daughter's bf is on and a couple of Navy cute t-shirts for my grandchildren, that say "My Uncle is in the Navy" for A to give them for Christmas.

I have no association with the website, but just wanted to share it.

Thank you diannep. We are going to try cuz like I said the extras will still get to see him over the weekend (can't wait). I was actually making this comment because I know some ladies were not going if they didn't make the list. They need to go.....

nicksmom: Jessica may not be on here until later this afternoon, so I'll try and help with your question. You are correct on the guest list issue. Most all get in...even the extras. If they are expecting alot that day, they MAY make them wait until all on the list are seated, but not always.

You have 11 divisions which is average to large size for a PIR group. But even the PIR group with 14 divisions said all got in (but they were quite packed!). So make sure they have ID and give it a try!

JessicaB-Would you please clarify and correct me if I am wrong. From what I understand, you don't necessarily have to be on the "list" to attend. The four names on the list are guaranteed a seat. Additional people wait until the guaranteed spots are filled, then the additional people are allowed to be seated. Is this correct?

My son's dad and I are divorced. So there are actually 8 of us going. Even if the 4 extras can't get into the ceremony. They can still visit with him over the weekend.

Can't wait to see my Son, but I am NOT looking forward to the cold, that's for sure. I have the chills just thinking about it.
Comment by diannep on December 1, 2010 at 1:18pm
Um, yep...you CA girls will freeze...no doubt about it. :-) January in GL....brrr! Don't worry about your recruits. They keep them bundled up and when it is really bad, they don't go out. They do have to shovel some snow .... a first for my FL native boy. But he said they weren't exposed to the cold too much....most all is done inside in the winter.

But now YOU ladies....better get ready! Remember...LAYERS! HA!

Navyfam, I know what you mean. I am in California and I am Freezing. I sure hope my California Boy is OK. WE ARE GOING TO FREEZE!!!!!!!!
Comment by navyfam on December 1, 2010 at 12:24pm
Dianne Maybe, but we are cold right now...nothing like GL but under 50 is cold for my thin blood! I'm a native so if I get to go to PIR I will freeze!!!!
Comment by diannep on December 1, 2010 at 12:23pm
navyfam: You are on TOP of things! YAH! Ok, so now she has your private message and my comment! Thanks for doing that. I can see where it would be confusing for some ladies to think they aren't included if it is just for that one division. Yes, you CA people are ON IT for SURE! HA! I'm a FL person...I'm trying to stay on top of things too...maybe it is the "warm weather" in our states that keeps us active! :-)
