Justin's mom and MissinShawn you have now experienced what I like to call the "the frustrated with getting beat blues letter". This is one of the typical letters you will get in the first few weeks. It is the kind of letter that makes most moms go "Oh dear God, please don't let it be my kid who isn't serious and is screwing up or talking all the time." The recruits are under a tremendous amount of pressure. They went from the pretty easy going environment of civilian life to the regimented life of the Navy in one second flat and it is "hell". So let me tell you a little secret ALL the recruits get in trouble, they all screw up, they all do things they shouldn't and all moms worry that their kids are the ones. So just resolve to know you are all in the same boat and and by the way...they all write home and blame it on the other recruits...I am pretty sure Dianne and Jessica will back me up on this. So watch out moms....the rest of your letters are coming too...lol!! In fact, I asked my son point blank on the phone if he had gotten the division in trouble ( I was worried you know_ and he said yes...I said...what did you do....and he informed me...he leaned against the bulkhead....I said...why would you do that...mom...the bulkhead is a wall I was tired...lol...oh...and that resulted in trouble...so ...just a quick lesson in what screwing up may mean...lol

Thats great that you received a letter today too! My son is in the same division as your fiance MIssinShawn and he stated the same exact thing in his letter about his Div not being serious and screwing up alot. It was great getting that letter today, he was able to get out three letters from Thanksgiving day!

talked to my son Friday - he sounded really Good! He said they will be moving onto weapons this next week. He also said the same as Ash's husband DIV that his DIV 040 is listed as Grad N Go. Not the news I wanteed to hear, cried a little after the phonce call concluded, but will be so glad to see him at graduation and HUG him! I will just enjoy whatever time we have to visit before he leaves for A-school.

navyfam: They won't know their BattleStations date yet....that is the final test so they may not know that until about 2-3 weeks before PIR. But remember to remind them that you would like to know when they find out....post here so we can get a schedule up for the divisions. Be sure to post your division when you post a date (if it isn't in your screen name). GradNGo info should come sooner than that, but be sure to ask!

Wow, Ash! Thanks for the info. I hope my son passed them, too! You may be right about the div being grad & go. I know my son probably is anyway. Another mom has a son going to the same A school in Monterey and he is grad & go - leaves Saturday. I'm just praying it will be LATE Saturday! You should probably repost that info and anything else peretinent in the group for DIV 042!

As Jessicab said a couple of days ago we all should be asking them if they are grad & go and when they are scheduled for battlestations. Hopefully we all will find out and pass it along. Hope my daughter passed all of her tests too!
