Bubba's mom,

I am in the same ship and Div too. I am still waiting on a letter or a phone call. Hoping for today!

Karla: They hold the letters from them for the first 2 weeks. He may get several at once which he will love! Yes, you are correct...their moods usually are up and down on calls/in letters....but change frequently since they are so busy.
"Amen" on your last statement....it is a grueling process for us moms for sure!

diannep - No, he was fairly upbeat - he's not really a complainer, which is good. Said it was pretty hard though. I suspect their letters over the next 6 weeks will oscillate a lot between up and down. He wrote the letter on the 21st and said it was the first chance he had to write. Doesn't sound like he had received any of our letters yet because he wanted to know EVERYTHING. We mailed the first one on the 16th as soon as we got the address. But we are in WA state. I'm sure by now he has gotten lots of letters which hopefully buoyed his spirits before the fated Thanksgiving day. Understatement of the day: Sons becoming strong men is hard on moms.

Bubba'sMom: I know this is especially hard for you with the holidays not hearing from him. Hoping that if you don't hear today from him, you will next week. Hang in there!

Hi ladies, very happy for all of you that got letters or phone calls. I am still in the dark, my son is in ship 2 div 908 has anyone else from that group heard how they are doing. It's the not knowing that is going to take me down. Hoping there is a letter in the mail today.

Wow, Karla. That is awful...but I guess they have to do it when they can do it. Did he seem terribly bummed about it? Glad he is doing ok and likes the food there!

So happy for the letters you all are receiving! It will happen SOON for those still waiting!

Had a letter waiting for us when we returned home after Thanksgiving! My son sounds fine. Not great - but fine. He said his division constantly goes from best to worst so they get IT'd a lot. As with everyone else, he does like the food! But the worst part of the letter? He said he was going to have his wisdom teeth out on THANKSGIVING DAY! How sad is that!?

I GOT A LETTER TODAY TOO!! :DD
I dont think i've had this great of a day since he was still here!
Overall, the feel of the letter was great...it seems like he's doing very well and actually having fun...he actually said it was fun!
God definitely answered a lot of our prayers today!!
