Judie, I should add that they announce each division as they enter the hall.

My SR went to college right down town Chicago for 3.5 years before joining up. Just a reminder, the weather and walk in January can be BRUTAL on the Magnificent Mile and also Navy Pier. You may have to bundle up. (then again, that could be the January thaw weekend! Been there at both times) He worked for Best Buy as well and says that most graduating Sailors LOVE LOVE LOVE to spend that money they have earned at BC in Gurnee Mills Outlet Malls. Most will be killing themselves to get the the electronics stores.

No, Judie, they don't.

I think it was in this group that someone was asking about how to take the train downtown Chicago. Well i finally tracked down that information. One of the moms in my PIR group used it the whole weekend we were there and now considers herself quite an expert...lol. Here was her advice: someone asked about the train to chicago...it's literally at gate 3 of main base...you can see PIR hall on RTC base from station as well. It cost $7 round trip and took about 45minites...not bad at all! It drops u off downtown where it's about 20minute walk or 5minute taxi ride to magnificent mile shopping district. Navy Pier is about 10minute, $10(including tip) taxi ride...very easy!!!! Hope that helps!!

Bluewarrior you have come to the right place you will meet many folks going through similar things to you here. First congrats on your pregnancy. Next, wow I have lots of respect for you going through this during boot camp, bet those hormones are not helping your emotions. I was just helping a young woman in another group who wanted her hubby to feel more invovled in her pregnancy. So she is now writing him a little note everyday few days from her unborn child using this cool app from facebook. http://apps.facebook.com/birthwatch/

You are doing just the right thing by coming here and talking about how you are feeling. You aren't alone. Hang in there. We will be with you every step of the way. I am one of the seasoned moms so to speak but you will meet lots of moms who are going along with you on this journey.

Hello everyone! My husband's PIR is on 14 Jan 2010. He is on Ship 12, Div 041. Anyone else having a rough time right now? I am 5 (almost 6) months pregnant and I find myself even more emotional through this whole ordeal. Any suggestions?

Ash...here is that app...you can set it for weekly or daily...it doesn't send out to your friends on facebook during the first trimester but does send to your email...it should be fun for you to reword as a daily note to your recruit from his unborn baby...have fun with it..

Oh, and he was setback a week and after that, when he joined a new division in the next PIR group, he was also in the first division of that PIR group.
