Diannep: Thanks...yes she is in bc arrived in GL 11/10 & evidently the ex joined the reserves as well and is on his way to GL today! So don't know what Public Affairs would do about that. Other navymoms on chat said she'll be fine...they can't talk and he will be in big trouble if he tries to talk to her. Both the current bf & I have agreed that we won't say anything unless she notices him and brings it up.

...if you are still uneasy about it, you can call the Public Affairs Office and ask about leaving the guy's name with security there....the number is:

navyfam: Your daughter is in bc, right? There is no way for the ex to get to her. He cannot stalk her. The base is very secure. I would suggest that you not mention this to her at all....nor should the current bf. Because it may freak her out and like you said, she needs focus! She is safe...believe me...I've been there already. There are guns! :-) They were there with them when we arrived for PIR. Your daughter is in the best place to be right now for safety....try not to worry...Hopefullly the ex will realize this and leave.

I do have a unusual question: Daughter's ex boyfriend on his way to GL, it was a very tumultous relationship...the current BF thinks he may be stalking her....Any ideas on what toi do? We are concerned about her losing focus....don't know if we should warn her...What are the chances of them running into each other? Since he left Nevada today! Any advice would be welcomed! Thanks so much for your support!

Thanks, Jessica! That's what I need to know!

Okay that makes sense...some of those who have received their letters got there on 11/9 and live close by vs. us who live across the country...hopefully soon. I am thinking I am in the correct PIR group though...found a group of the same ship and one divsion lower in numbe and they have the same PIR.

I don't know if the boyfriend has received the box...last I spoke with her she was planning on ditching the clothes and giving him her cell phone at the airport...so she may not have sent a box.

Jessica B, is it true that sometimes it can take 2 weeks to get the form letter? My daughter arrived in GL 11/10 and neither I nor her boyfriend has received it yet. We both are on the west coast. We did get her address from the recruiter so that is good. Any insight you have would be great!

I agree with Jessica! Much info is missed when posted just in the discussion groups. Those are really more for just chatting back and forth about other things. Important info should always be posted on the main board for sure, as well as the discussion group if you like.
