hello thingamabob,

I spent all day thinking and waiting yesterday and didn't get the call until 4pm when I was in the middle of a grocery store.....the phone had horrible reception so I had to stand outside.  Guess my point is .....it may not come this morning.  Be ready with any questions....they are dog tired but it is wonderful to hear from your new SAILOR!

diannep: just read your post regarding practicing for graduation. Our grandson didn't have any surgery last year..that must have been someone else. Not even sure what date it first happened...just know he said they gave him Bible and manual to read while resting. I'm hoping he will reunite with his Div. 042. I don't think he had to stay in the medical unity because he mentioned they put him on light duty. But I'm really not sure about anything!!!

At work waiting on the "I'm a sailor" call. Everytime the phone rings I answer it so fast lol. Hope she calls sooner rather than later.

diannep: thanks for your well wishes. Is tonight the last time for BattleStations for a 1/14 graduation? Was wondering about that...don't they all have to practice for graduation together? Keep those prayers comin...

BCMom:  I don't believe there is paperwork on your end...but maybe on his end?  Maybe he has to sign out with your son...buddy system...and then they both go with you.  I think you all are going to have such a great time together and I know his buddy will be so grateful!
Comment by MinnesotaMom on January 11, 2011 at 10:03am

My Son asked yesterday if we would take in a buddy after PIR.....absolutely!Wondering if there is paperwork expected?  I know there was for the Christmas adopt a sailor but suppose this is different.

Diannep - Yes, he was on medical hold because he had pneumonia, but I haven’t heard back from him since Saturday when he told me that he was heading back to boot camp. I was thinking the same thing you said - “no news is good news.”  Thanks for all of the information! Maybe I'll hear from him today or tomorrow!
