My Sailor (YEAH!!) is Grad and Go for "A" School in Groton. Am wondering if any other Moms know if their guys are going? Any good links for Groups there?
Comment
Dramaboys: YES! Your son can bring his buddy with you all after PIR. That happens alot and means the world to the sailors with no family there. So kind of you all to do that!
Ladies, any of your recruits/saillors who want to do this...it is a great thing. The sailors with no family at PIR are allowed to leave the base on their own (with buddy system)...but so many of them enjoy being with a family. So ask your recruits/sailors if they have someone who may like to join you!
Congrats to all the new sailors! My son will have Battlestations tonight....fingers crossed.
@DramaboysMom - That's a good question and I was kinda wondering the same thing. My son told me that his bunk mate was homeless before joining the Navy. A group of us from his division sent holiday cards to him, but I was wondering if would be able to hang out with us after graduation.
ProudGMBarb: Yes, those who have not gone through BS will stil practice for PIR. They start practicing about a week before PIR. When you see them march, you will swear that they have been practicing for weeks! They look so good!
For medical separation from one's division, if it is a more lengthy recovery, they are put in the medical ship until recuperated and then put into a new division in another PIR group. If it is something with a just a few days of healing needed, they usually can catch back up with their own division. Is your grandson in the medical unit now, and if so, how long has he been there? I know you mentioned that he had surgery on his knee last year and that it was bothering him in bc.
Good luck to the remainder of the divisions!
Mon, Jan 10th/11th Div 908
Tues, Jan.11th/12th Div 45, 46, 47, 48
3 days to go! The things we have endured together. Like our sailors, we have learned to lean on each other and get each other through the tough times!
Lifting up in prayer those waiting for the call and for the SR's in BS and healing for those waiting. God protect all those traveling and for good weather.
Ahhh! 3 more days! I think my hubby said he was doing BS21 yesterday, so I should hopefully get a call today.
DramaboysMom - I'm so sorry! Ear infections are never fun! Praying for a speedy recovery for you!
Thoughts to those waiting for "the call" today, and those of us who will be praying for our SR who go tonight.
Got double middle ear infections. Can't hear a blasted thing. Cotton balls and sweet oil in ears.... Gotta get rid of this today so I can (fingers crossed) get m y call tomorrow. Can't hear in the phone.
