pinkaboo:  Normally they are in bed by 8 pm on the day they finish BattleStations so hopefully all got a great night of sleep last night before Captains Cup!

bluewarriorlady:  YAH that he passed the swim test.  Don't worry...he'll make it through BattleStations.  He's got the adrenaline going now....and when he makes it through, there should be no reason that he is not a sailor and participating in PIR!

nicole:  He will get a couple of chances to pass that run and most do it before PIR, get through BattleStations, and are there.  There is even a BStations scheduled for Thurs night before PIR (when next PIR group starts theirs) and if would have up until that night to make up BattleStations if he needs to (would then be in uniform but sitting in the balcony for PIR--too tired to march!)  Prayers!

@navyfam - Thanks! So, I guess it is today for our SR's. I hope those who went through Battlestations were able to get enough rest to put their best foot forward. I can only imagine how exhausted they must be.

Uh oh, looks like snow in Great Lakes on Friday and sleet and rain on Saturday and Sunday.

Nicole-Your boyfriend is in my prayers and you as well...I hope you get good news soon.

Pinkaboo-Captain's Cup is a competition between divisions the Saturday before PIR....relays, basketball etc.  Here is link to photos of a previous Captain's Cup on FB : http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?fbid=411676784650&id=32459...

Congratulations to everyone who received their calls. This is exciting news. I won't receive mine until next week, but it's so nice to read about the call that came through last night. The anticipation deepens....I can't wait.

By the way, is Captain's Cup today?

After reading bluewarriorlady's comment, I'm hoping that the same thing will happen for my boyfriend. He failed his run test by 2 seconds & that day he was sent to the VA hospital because he had a pneumonia.... He was in the hospital until thursday but his division had battle stations that night. I read that people can't participate in battle stations until they pass everything else so I hope that he will get to retake the run & have battle stations with another division & later on reunite with his original division ! I'm really hoping that he will not get set back.

So happy you heard from your SR Blue....I am sure it is very stressful for him but congrats to him on passing his swim test and I am sure he will do just fine at BS21...we will wait together for our calls although my call should not be coming until the 12th.
Comment by navyfam on January 8, 2011 at 12:25pm
Blue-glad you heard from him...I can only imagine...very emotional. So happy he passed his swim test!!!!! He will be fine at Battle Stations...they are all one team in the Navy.  Looking forward to hearing about you getting your "I'm a Sailor" call. Praying for your hubby and you!
Comment by diannep on January 8, 2011 at 11:46am

blessed:  If he passed all of his tests and passed BStations, then he should be at PIR as a sailor from what I know.  Can't imagine why he wouldn't be?
