Kate - My husband will be going to Groton too. Did your son tell you anything about when they would be leaving? The day of PIR or on Saturday? I am trying to plan for how long I will be staying since I live only about 4 hours away.

I have had both my son and daughter going through bootcamp at the same time and it was made livable through having N4Ms guidance.  My daughter graduated 12/17/2010 and now my son 1/14/2011.  It's nearly like having children...the first you do not know what to expect, but once you have done it you somewhat know the ropes and can deal with it the second time around.  Though I miss my son awfully, I know he is doing well.  In bootcamp, no news is good news is what I definately learned.  My daughter is off to Pensacola and my son will be in Groton.  It is all good.

Bluewarrior...well at least you will get it all behind you sooner than later.  And this as well. Safe delivery to you.

Kate - Thanks! Believe me...it is a struggle. But I busted my behind to graduate from college at 20 (3 years) and now at 23 I am still working hard. I will not give up! And it is wonderful people like you and everyone on n4m that keep me going. Btw, I am getting my PhD in Clinical Psychology.

The blue candle is kind of a Navy tradition to let the recruits/sailors know that we are thinking of them/praying for them.  Here on this site, we like to light them during BattleStations, the final test for the recruits to become sailors.
