Welcome Mom's in this Division, we may get a scheduled call from our SR's today. My SR told me in a letter last week it was going to be Tuesday Nov. 22  They have Battle Stations so it may happen late? Please post if you get a call. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We are staying at the Navy Lodge.

Hello Moms in our ship & div. I received a phone call today it was 12:15 Pacific time. My son said they have a great bunch of guys and are really starting to bond. I was so happy to hear from him and he sounded great, happy to finally get to call out. I am so happy I worked from home today! Happy dance. My Sr said they were able to receive letters around day 14 he said there were 17 letters waiting for him. I think he has read most of them but they usually read at bed time.. LOL that sounds odd. Maybe lights out. So basically if you choose to read there goes your sleep. But he said don't stop they all appreciate them. He said they won 1 flag I think it was for a test they all scored well on? I'm sure it will be in a letter. He did tell me they were able to write last Sunday and I know he hadn't received one that I sent on Monday so it must take 5 day's. Friday must be the letter day!

From what your saying yours told you is what my son told me also.  He said start to write him everyday but they don't get mail on Saturday and Sundays.  He did say that they read their letters at lights out but they can't write at that time.  He said it is a big deal to get mail.  Apparently they stand in formation and are called out for mail and he says they run to get that mail.  He sounded very happy and said that he was very happy with how everything was going.  He did say that he didn't know anything about the Thanksgiving pick up so I assume we (me) will not be invited.  That is ok because I think it will be good for him to spend some down time with his new found buddies. He also said they wrote their letters last Sunday.  They get from 6 AM to 1 PM to write work on their clothes and anything else they needed to do done.  He told me he can now make his bed, fold his clothes and he can iron his own uniform.  (I spoiled him rotten)  Oh yeah I asked about pictures also.  He said they will get in the next couple of days their uniform but after it comes in they send it out for alteration and get their names sewn in it so in about a week he said they will get their pictures done!  Oh he also asked for stamps and phone cards.

The best part about that phone call today was it is his birthday so I got to tell him happy birthday!  I cried after I got off the phone so he didn't know it this time  :)

Thanks for everyones notes it makes me feel good about things!

Susan

My RC is going to have his birthday while in there also>I hope he gets to call on his.

letter days much differ, mine said he was going to start writing letter on wednesday

I made reservations at the Spring hill suites Waukegan 79.00 best rate if you call direct. Mention Navy Graduation for special rate.

My SR also told me on the call today they work out with Ship 7 div 11. Buddy group.

Does anyone know what the flag is for the Ship 07 Division 012?  I was thinking of having shirts made up but I am so lost in all these groups.

Thanks for your help,

Susan

Hi buddy group I heard you are a great buddy group for my SR, I did hear your RDC was a bit tough? I hope they all guide and support each other through these trying times. I think it will get easier as time goes on. I am thankful to the Moms for there communication and support to their Sr's as it helps them all get through this beginning period.
Is anyone elses SR going to Texas for A school after BC?  Mine told me it is either Houston or San Antonio, but he wasn't sure.

i heard from my recruit today first time since he left! he will be in chicago for A school.

Cryed alot with a quivering voice said nothing but days were long and hard

Melissa I am so sorry to hear this about your son. Do you think it would help him if some other encouragemail came onto him? I would be willing to write him. My son wants daily letters so I could wrote a little more to help encourage your son.
