Once you are in FB type: U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command into the search spot at the top and it should bring it right up!
Deanna,
How do I find that FB page?
Janis
If you go the the RTC's FB page you can see pictures of the capping ceremony of 014!
I'm a Sailor calls should start coming in this afternoon around 2pm GL time. Could be a bit later and go on for a while. Phones handy all day! Hoping that the 4 divisions we think went through...actually did!
I hope you all have a wonderful time at PIR and please travel safely :-) Here are some helpful tips for your trip.
If you drive to base don't line up in the far right lane the morning of PIR. That lane ends so stay to the left of it and it will save you lots of wait time.
When you get into the PIR Hall take some practice shots with your digital camera. Change your settings until you get the best pictures possible with the lighting and environment you are in. Your pics will come out much better and you will be glad you did.
If you go to Gurnee Mills Mall keep track of the amount of time you have. That mall is huge and there are no pass through stores or hall ways to work as short cuts. It is Z shaped so if you start at one end you have to go back to where you started the same way you came.
If your Sailor tells you the day of PIR that they will be on a chartered flight you won’t get to meet them at the airport. They go straight from the base to the Jet and don’t come inside. This doesn’t happen very often but it did happen to us and we didn’t really say goodbye on Friday night because we thought we would have several hours with her at the airport.
Most of all have a wonderful time with your new Sailor!!!
Don't forget your ribbons :-)
Good Morning my Navy Family... I just want the next two days to go by so fast and then time to stand still...
Hope you are feeling better really soon FireTeamLeaderWife..
Sorry I have been MIA…down with stomach flu today. Man, haven’t had it this bad in years!
I am “vertical” for a little while though! Will read through to see how you all are doing!
The freaking out nervous feeling is very common leading up to PIR. I thought I would jump out of my skin when I went to see my son's PIR. I think I drove my older son nuts! :-)
Won't be long now!
