Only 2 more days then we fly out to Chicago from Portland. I watched that PIR video posted by diannep. Happy tears. Thanks for posting. See you all soon.

I spent my days off during Thanksgiving getting the house cleaned and laundry all done.  My closet is even color coded now . . . I have too much energy built up from the anticipation of PIR.  All we need to do is pack a few things and head for the airport on Thursday morning.  I can't wait, and I hope Friday goes by sooooo sssllllooooowwww.

I feel the same way!! We are leaving Weds. morning, I cant wait. Blanket and candle in the car in case there is a snow storm.

Maja, I feel the same way.  We're leaving on Wed morning and it seems like I have piles of stuff everywhere.  I freaking out about the cold weather. I'm a native Californian so anything below 60 degrees is like the north pole. LOL  I'm reading everything I've printed out on PIR over and over in case I forget something.

Hi Mom's!  Sounds like we are all pretty much in the same mode.  I have my washing machine and dryer humming away, too!  Putting things in 3 piles - me, hubby, and SR.  Haven't started to pack though.  Work was pretty much a drag but my afternoon went by a whole lot quicker than my morning.  Tomorrow is my last day at work.  Wednesday, it's off to Chicago.  Quick question, are any of you "freaking" out?  I am and I don't know why.  I'm totally weepy, have an upset stomach, feel kind of nervous or something.  I know I'm feeling anxious but thought that was a good thing.

Comment by ProudNavyMom on November 28, 2011 at 6:31pm

Pentwater - I know what you mean.  Work for me was pretty steady this morning getting caught up from being out Wed-Fri last week. But the afternoon is dragging by.  I need to finish my laundry that I started last night after getting back from our trip to NJ and repack everything for the upcoming trip this week!  I hope I don't forget anything.  I have to get my son's stuff together that he wants me to bring to him as well to hand over to him at the airport.

Comment by Pentwater98 on November 28, 2011 at 4:38pm

I swear this afternoon was gone by so slow.. All I want to do is get off work so I can go home and pack...

@ dianepp - you really need to quit posting that video!  Just kidding - everytime I watch it - elephant tear city and it's not even my SR.  Good grief!

My hubby and I fly out Wed pm.  Have to keep pinching myself to make sure it's real.  Can't believe the time has finally passed.  It seems like once November hit, the momentum really picked-up. I can't imagine making it thru all of this without my Navy 4 Moms family.  It's said there is "strength in numbers" and I have certainly drawn strength from being with all of you.  Thank you all so much for your kindness and support.  I hope we stay in touch even after our SR's move on in their Navy careers.

Good morning Navy family. Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend. I can't believe we only have 3.5days left!!! It seems like yesterday I was searching for a way to get through the 9 weeks and I found all of you. Thank you for the support and updates. I know I haven't been on here a lot lately but I try and at least read the updates when I can. Life has gotten really busy lately. I am so looking forward to meeting all of you and your Sailors!!
