ProudNavyMom: You all are very welcome...and remember, you ALL are about to become N4Moms veterans this week! So we welcome any of you to join our ranks on the PIR groups to help out! Or...any of the other groups on this site that catch your interest (or start your own group!).
Prayers during the continuation of BattleStations for this group!
I just want to add that I would not have been able to get through this experience and still have my sanity without this wonderful group of ladies. I have learned so much and had so much support and encouragement from you all, I will never forget any of you. I hope we can stay in touch after PIR. If you would like to connect via facebook, please private message me and we can exchange facebook information. I hope to hook up with any of you that your sailors will be going to A school in Pensacola in that group here too.
A special thanks to the veteran moms here that have shared so much valuable information with all of us newbies to this experience and hopefully some day we an pass on the information as well.
Just got back home from the most amazing Thanksgiving ever with our SR and his buddy, I let his buddy call first thing in the morning from my cell phone and he talked to them for ab out an hour. Then again later in the afternoon he called them again for another hour. My SR called his sisters. It was the funniest thing, during the whole11 hours we had them when they weren't on the phone, they talked non-stop. I really mean non-stop. I feel as though I was at RTC for the entire 7 weeks cause I think I know everyone's names, all the RDC's and even what the Chief drives. They acted like this was the first time they could speak in 7 weeks. LOL
While talking to my SR on Thursday, she said she received a bunch of handwritten notes and drawings from kids at a church in California. Anybody know anything about that? She was so grateful, and said she will keep and cherish them forever.
Good Morning my Navy Family... I can't believe in 5 days I will get to see my Sailor.. It feels like its been forever.. Going to go shopping today for clothes for PIR and some new boots... Plus do some Christmas shopping as well.. Hope everyone has a great day...
Hi to all...I had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. My SR called twice...once in the morning when it was just Mom & Dad and again, in the afternoon when there was about 15 family members together. When the phone rang in the afternoon, as soon as I picked it up, our family shouted "Happy Thanksgiving, xxxxxx!!" She just giggled. We put the call on speaker so everyone was talking to her at the same time. It was so wonderful. I haven't quit smiling. I'm so happy. Inside and out. She sounded so fantastic. Was going to play volleyball in the Captains Cup competition. Doesn't sound as though they won anything. But no matter...it was fun for them. Congratulations to the Divisions that did win. Nicely done! Our SR has a little list of things she wants to do while we are together. All I know is that I will work Monday and Tuesday of this coming week and then on our way to PIR! OMG...it's really here! So, glad to read that so many of my "sisters" had calls, too! Nothing like the sound of your child's voice to send you to the clouds!
Not a "Black Friday" person but will be going out bright and early tomorrow morning to grab a couple of things for PIR. Finally put the last coat of paint on my SR's bedroom walls. Sure would like to get her room pulled together, snap a picture and show it her at PIR. Painted the walls her favorite color...lime green! Not the wild lime green. Kind of a toned down lime green with plum accents.
Well, dear sisters, time for some "beauty rest". Talk to you soon and see you on Thursday at the Meet n Greet if not sooner! HOO YAH!
Congrats to the Captains Cup winners and for SKYPE, phone calls today. And for the video below, FTLW! Hope some see their SRs
We were so blessed that our son called several times yesterday for Thanksgiving. We also go to skype video chat using Facebook skype. It was amazing talking and seeing our son face to face. He showed us his uniform and his pins and patches. That made my day. I'm so thankful for the Moose Lodge for taking in div. 012 and spoiling them all day with breakfast, a movie, Thanksgiving dinner and cell phones and computers. What a blessing!
