Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". My son called so many times today, and he got to talk to everyone (about 30 of us together today) and every time he called I got to stump him with something else I knew..."How did you know that Mom" to which I would reply "Mom's know everything, don't you know that!!!" Thanks to the wonderful women here, my knowledge is growing every day, so that I can understand what he is doing. It's what Mom's do!!!

Got to talk to my SR four times today. What a wonderful Thanksgiving!! She kept saying, "Mom, I'll talk to you next week after Battle Stations, then I'll see you at PIR on Friday. Just one more week and I get to see all of you. I can't wait!" It was so good to hear her say that.

Comment by diannep on November 24, 2011 at 8:36pm: So happy for the calls today! And My2Sailors....wow! I know you were on cloud 9. Been up here with my sailor son now for a few hours....in VA. Thanksgiving dinner was at Ruby Tuesdays....they have a great salad bar! Coca cola chocolate cake takeout afterwards. YEAH! This is the first time with my sailor for Thanksgiving since 2008! I'm glad that I came up here this year, even if just for 2 days. We are in Williamsburg and his buddy will join us tomorrow, a history buff, to take us through Jamestown, Yorktown, and all of those historical places. FUN!

He was a little upset that I didn't tell him about my surgery but in the in he said he understood I didn't want to worry him. He sounds so grown up now. I bet they all do. Better go.
