I read the book The Shack, it was very good. A book that should be read twice!
Hey girls, if you have not read Heaven is for real, I totally recommend. By know all of us have lost someone we love and someday it will be our turn to face whats next. This little book will fill you with joy. If you are Christian, this book will help you to see that your loved ones that have passed are probably feeling sorry for you right now : )
Pentwater: Those heavenly "urges" have a purpose so thanks for posting that prayer request! Praying for the SRs at GL right now.
ProudNavyMom: Sent you an email on this site with the BStations dates I have so far. Get blue candles ready, everyone! BattleStations are coming!
Maja: So so sorry...holidays can produce so many feelings...good, bad, sad. Doesn't help that you have an SR at bc too....I know this will be a difficult Thanksgiving for you, but hope that once you get through this one, the next ones will start to get better. How lucky he (and your sister!) were to have YOU to help them through his final days. What a blessing! I think he is smiling down from heaven at you...wants you to wipe your tears away..he is good! You will rejoice the day that you all are reunited again in heaven.
Prayers for all who are having a difficult time during the holidays. May you feel the peace and comfort of His love for you, and may you realize the blessing you have been to others. Better days are coming for you!
Hi sisters! Struggling these past couple of days. Not sure why. Probably because the holidays are going to be tough this year. Last year at this time my brother in law, who had colon cancer, was slipping really fast. I remember him coming to Thanksgiving dinner and put about a tablespoon of mashed potatoes and gravy on his plate and couldn't eat them. Don't know how or if I will ever get that image out of my mind. He and I were quite close. I was the only person he would let "help out" during his final days other than my sister (his wife) and their 3 kids. He died 1/11/11. 57 years old. He was my hockey buddy. Man, I miss him (as the alligator tears fall). Thought I was doing better than this. To be honest, I'm quite a mess right now. Try to stay focused on PIR and being together with my SR and all of you but it's not working real well. I'll be better if I can make it through Thursday. Then there is nothing standing in the way of me, PIR, my SR and you. I might be crying at PIR but it won't be because I'm sad! Love to you all.
Good Morning my Navy Family... I got this feeling this morning when I woke up that for some reason we need to say a prayer today for our SRs.. Don't know where it came from or why must be a mom thing but we need to say a little prayer for all of them...
diannep - I checked my email and I have nothing there - nor in the spam folder.
OMGosh . . . we're almost in the single digits on the count down!! HOOYAH!!! PIR . . . here we come!!!
They can take their cell phone and laptop, etc to A school, but you can't give it to them until you meet them at the airport when they fly out. They can not take it back with them to the barracks - that is why you have to meet them at the airport to give it to them.
