Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on November 15, 2011 at 2:45pm: Pentwater - Adding my prayers...agree with you all on how precious or dogs/pets can be.Know how your SR feels...as far as the "brother" thing. I am an only child so my dogs were a huge part if my life...still are as I have working border collie...he's an incredible partner on sheep. I swear that dog "knows" me. He's my "shadow", a "van" dog, (don't have a truck yet!), and a pretty good snuggle bunny off sheep!

I really hope he can be successfully treated and restored to health. I can not imagine the anguish you all are dealing with but send you hugs and ear rubs for Odie. Our 4 legged kids worry us as much as the 2 legged ones.

Comment by Pentwater98 on November 15, 2011 at 1:09pm: Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers. It helps knowing we have so many people pulling for Odie.. Didn't get good news from the Vet. She thinks he has tetnus which is really rare in dog and is more likely fatal.. Hoping and praying we caught it early enough that he can be treated.

Can't wait to to see the group on the 2nd.

A couple of weeks ago he was sprayed by a skunk & was either bitten or scratched by it, I was so afraid he had rabies, but thankfully he does not. (((HUGS)))

Our dog will be 16 in March and I know his time with us is almost over and I pray everyday, please not during boot camp! Thoughts and prayers with you today!
