Amen, Pentwater....prayers that he will be ok....bless his heart...our pups are so precious to all of us, especially to the SRs/sailors!  Please keep us posted.

LOVE that idea, Lala!  Maybe someone in this group could do it and see if it gets on?  I think it would get on too!  I too hope that the group pik happens...if it does, please post it on this group!

Good morning, everyone!

Oh Pentwater, I hope he will be okay. Definitely prayers for Odie <3

Good Morning to my Navy Family.. Will everyone plese say a little prayer for us today.. My SRs dog is really sick and we are taking him to the Vet. He won Odie as a bribe from his dad. My SR was getting a D in reading and my husband said if you get a A than I will get you a dog. Odie is more like brother to my SR and if anythiing happens to him my SR is going to be crashed. It will be like losing a member of the family.. Of course he will not know what is going on until PIR. I am in tears typing this just the throught of Odie being sick is heart breaking..

I think the group picture sounds like a great idea. I keep getting this image in my mind of a flash mob of Navy Moms all appearing in the same spot at the same time  to take this awesome picture lol.

I had this really good idea a few months ago about doing a video for good Morning America "Three Words" segment. I know most of you have probably seen it where people hold up 3 different signs  with a word on each sign. My idea was to have a big group of Navy moms do this and hold up 3 signs that say: LOVE ~ OUR ~ SAILORS and then you could flip them over for 3 more words and have them say NAVY ~ FOR ~ MOMS.com

I am sure it would make it onto the show and it would be great for this website and get the word out to so many other family members who don't know about this site but could really benefit from it. It is just an idea and I thought this group might really get into it :-)

DarkRider:  Labs have my heart....I also currently have a "goofy" yellow one (rescue).  Wait until your sailor finally comes home!  I thought that mine would jump out of his skin!  He gets so excited, that he cries in his deep voice!  HA!

LOVED the letter she wrote to him!  I have a feeling that he shared that letter with his bunkmates!

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on November 14, 2011 at 9:16pm

DarkRider - I bet it did...the recruits love it and lots of moms have reported writing a letter from the dog/cat etc. Some include a pawprint!

It's amazing what the dogs understand. I have a video on my phone of my SR and our goofy but sweet yellow lab Clementine playing ball. Sometimes I watch it when im sad. When she hears his voice she runs and gets her ball and goes looking for him. The other day I sent him a letter from her telling him things like how much she misses playing ball and that the cats drink from her bowl but swat her when she tries to share food. She told him about the " big dogs with sticks on their heads" that ran away when she tried talking to them. ( Clem barks at everything that moves) I hope it made him laugh.

@Janis I did the same thing for both my boys. Works out really well. LastApril I had a son in BC. He is in his 2nd school now, he came home a few weeks ago and took a couple of totes with him.
