N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

We actually don't make Groups for each individual Division...there is just too many :-) We make the Group for the PIR date and then we make Division Discussions within the Group for each Division.

ellen0502 (the creator of the Group) will open that up for this group soon. When she does she will post about it here on the main comment wall.

The Division Discussions are for you to get to know other moms within your TG.

The Group as a whole is for you to get to know everyone in the TG (who is on here anyways ;-)), and to ask questions of the veteran moms who have been through this before. That way everyone can see the answer. So questions are always best to ask on this main comment wall of the PIR group. We try to get to your Division Discussions, but with 6+  TG's at any given time at RTC that's 50+ Divisions, so a little difficult, since we are volunteers.

I just booked my flights. I was amazed at how low the fare was. We paid $98 round trip from tampa to ohare. I am also going to do research on cost of renting vs using other transportation. Will let you all know.. Have a blessed day everyone

Help! We are flying into Midway from Florida and trying to find the most economical way to get to the North Chicago area. We have not picked a hotel yet and are ok with using any type of mass transit to get close and perhaps rent a car at a cheaper rate. Also, how do I find Sarge? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Guys!

Week 3 Begins!  Progress is being made...It all sounds so overwhelming but it will all be so worth it!

Comment by diannep on October 22, 2015 at 8:42am

I agree .... rental car is the way to go for most----- economically.  They are cheaper to rent in Milwaukee.  For those flying Southwest Airlines (no change fee, 2 bags check for free)....they throw in a cheaper rental car promotion code.

Good Morning!

Don't forget if your son or daughter will be flying out to their A school that you will have to be able to get to O'Hare or Midway airports too ~~  There is practically no way to find out which airport until after PIR~~
