Ok, someone sent me a friend request asking about an page about Great Lakes and the ships.....when I hit ACCEPT, it wouldn't let me go to her page to reply and I didn't notice the name, didn't know the PIR group. If anyone on here sent that to me, please post here. So sorry about that! I have no way to private message you!
What a gift, Matilda! Enjoy!
Thank you, DiaNep, it was very helpful. I'm trying to see both my son in the Navy and my daughter coming in from England. Luckily my daughter's in-laws in NYC have a sense of humor and are opening up their house to us.
BlessedNavyMom: The backpack is probably large enough, but really depends on what is already packed in their backpack. You can bring the laptop in a separate black carrying case, just in case, although that would be an extra bag to keep up with, and not sure if the airlines will allow 1 or 2 carryons. Hopefully it will fit in the backpack!
I checked with the Residence Inn Chicago Waukegan/Gurnee, and they also said that we can hang a banner on the hotel door using removable mounting putty. If anyone is staying there, I have 3 packs that I am happy to share! :o)
Happy Veteran's Day! Many blessings to those who have courageously served, and to those that will be serving our country. Thank you for all of your sacrifices.
I'd like to piggy back on the one thread in particular about the luggage, backpack, etc that Catmom509 posted.
Do you know if the backpack that our new sailors will have, is big enough to fit a 17" lap top in it?
Thank you!
Happy Veteran's Day and thank you to all who have served, many making the ultimate sacrifice, and those who are serving now! Our nation is so very grateful!
Matilda: When he arrives at A School, he will go through INDOC and be advised of this. He will route a chit for his Christmas Leave time. They normally have 2 different shifts....some including Christmas, the others including New Years Day. So he won't know yet....I'm so sorry that you will have to wait until he arrives at A School and actually, you will need to wait until he knows his chit is approved in order to know the dates.
Good Morning!
