For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi all...Trattatoria is closed on Thanksgiving.
Full Moon has Thanksgiving dinner for free...1st com.

Kimberly, Your son will be allowed to go in the hole on leave days for stand down. I don't remember the dates for stand down at TSC, but since the base "closes" your son will probably start leave at that time, and remain on leave until base reopens (unless he is scheduled for duty on base).
I don't know what your SRs rate will be, so I will be general for leave after A School. After A School, leave is only granted if the Sailor is headed to the fleet, and not attending C School. Leave is only granted between school and fleet assignment.

Thanks for those additional restaurant info! That diner will be perfect for breakfast!
There's also a sushi restaurant just up the road a bit from Lovell's restaurant - My SR LOVES sushi! Has anyone been there, and if so how's the food there?

I made our reservation for 3pm. (but I'm thinking 2:00 - 14:00 will be better.) Just in case my SR wants to go back to my hotel to take a nice HOT shower, perhaps take a nap, and relax before he and I eat dinner. I plan on bring some "comfy" clothes from home so he can change into. As long as he's in the hotel room, he can wear "his clothes" and then change back into his camo's. I also plan on bring his cell phone and perhaps his lap top. I know he misses those items and will want to make a few calls while he is off "base". I can not wait to see my SR and catch up!

I heard Lovells is quite expensive for Thanksgiving,,, check the price,, there is another family style place called Full Moon in Lake Bluff,,,
