If there is anyone else that will be making reservations you have to call. The online reservations is not set up for Thanksgiving.
BlessedNavyMom...thank you!
Do you mind my asking what time you are going? I made mine for 1pm. I am not sure what would be a good time to go for dinner.
Hello splash!
I too am going up for to visit with my SR on Thanksgiving day. Its a short trip, but so well worth it! Yes, I found a nice place to have thanksgiving dinner, and they are accepting reservations, now. You can check it out, http://www.lovellsoflakeforest.com/home
Its within the limits of the mileage that they are allowed to be in while off base, or away from RTC.
It would be great to meet you!
I found it! Thanks
anasazigypsy...I am lookign for PIR 11/26 and cannot find it.
Good morning everyone. My oldest daughter got 2 letters from our SR yesterday. She has now been to the hospital 3 times. But apparently is doing better. On a lot of medications and listd them for her sister (sister is a medical provider) Now sister is trying to put the pieces together with the names of the meds. SR was begging for me to come for Thanksgiving and included the full of name of her new BF and asked to put her name on the form. She even offeed to pay for my gas! Of course I will not take her money but I decided to go. It is going to be a tough trip but somehoe things always work out. Does anyone know where we can have Thanksgiving dinner?
That is great on 15 baskets already. My theory on the "crazies" out there,,,so many people thought that institutions were wrong,,, I believe some things needed changing in them but no close them. So now those who really need that help and a safe environment for them to live are all gone. So now they walk among us,,, they are uncomfortable too.
Good Morning!
Reading everyone's posts below about the schools/crime is heartbreaking, so very sad....that goes on down here in MIA too. When my sailor son was a Sr in high school, his high school was on lockdown due to an incident in a middle school nearby involving a 7th grader stabbed to death in the bathroom....while innocently "doing his business" in the bathroom....and what makes it even worse is that it was his best friend who did it. So much sadness.....
But there IS good in the world, and I wish we would hear more about that, as we guard against the bad! Listening to the news sometimes makes us feel as if there is no hope, but there is always hope! It starts with each one of us....and the "pass it on" mentality. I would love to start a news station where it is all about uplifting subjects....people doing good, animals being treated right, etc.....the media has a huge part now in molding our society and honestly, they are falling short in my humble opinion!
Hope that this is "letter day" for many of you! Does anyone have any questions as you get closer and closer to PIR?
