aossana:  The sailors check in around 4 a.m.  That is a good time for you to arrive there if you want some good time with your sailor before departure.  Take ID and receive an airlines gate pass to wait until your sailor's plane departs.

Easttexasnavymomma:  I think the extra poster is a wonderful idea....in honor/memory of Sailor Adams.  Not sure if the Navy will release an address to write to, but hoping to find at least a funeral home address to send cards, etc to eventually.  I check today and nothing has been posted yet.  Just checking the Sarasota area newspapers for an obit.

Easttexasnavymomma,

I think that is a great idea.    I was wondering if there is a protocol, tradition,  or something we could do to show our respect, perhaps a black armband? or something that is appropriate.   Yellow scarf???   It's really late to organize as most of us will be in transient.

perhaps you could have a large foldable paper at the graduation (one you can keep in you purse???   i'm just throwing out ideas.)  I want to do something but don't know what.   and something is always better than nothing.      What if we bought a lot of sympathy cards to send?       or o long scroll of paper.   (like freezer paper??? and markers??  )  I'm leaving about 8:00 am  Thursday if you have something for me to pick up  before I come.

So I have been sitting in my room at the Navy Lodge, sorting out my my crafts to create my sailors door poster. This has now become an emotional challenge....

I in no way want to take away from my daughters accomplishment on Friday and yes I am so very proud of her and excited for her, but I also do not want to forget or give the impression that we have forgotten about Sailor Adams, Andrew (I am sorry but I am unaware of his correct title).

With that being said, I want to add a caption or phrase so my poster in remembers of and honor of him as well, but I can not come up with the right term or phrase....

I also feel compelled to make an additional poster for him so that other sailors who knew him that come through the lodge on Friday might stop and write a message or favorite memory, quality of or moment they shared with Adams and it some how, some way finds it way back to his family.....

What are your thoughts.....

Good Evening,

This evening my sailor told me he was flying out of Midway to "A" school and has a 9:30 am flight, and will be leaving GL at 1:30 am.  What time is the latest we can get to Midway and still see him off?  Thank you.

The passing of the new sailor is sorrowful.  Peace to the family, friends, and all of the  Navy family including Navy For Moms.   We are all heartbroken and in this together.   Peace be with us.

Haven't been able to get on here until now...just read about Sailor Andrew Adams.

LORD, Gracious, Compassionate Father, let us lean into You for comfort when we are faced with tragedy in our lives.

I lift up Andrew's Family, friends, his fellow Sailors and RDC's and all of those at RTC to You for solace. I lift up this PIR Group as they travel to go and celebrate their loved ones accomplishments and yet are touched by sorrow. I pray that Andrew is in Your arms.

Just had a long talk with my sailor in Div. 29, they are able to make another phone call tonight.  It was good to hear his voice.

My heart goes out to every member of Sailor Adams family. I am sadden by the news and can only imagine the pain they are going through. I'll pray for you all. It is hard for every one of us the Navy family.
