I know we are all overjoyed about our sailors coming home after PIR so let's get all of our questions answered here.

Ma'am,

Recruits graduating Dec. 17 & 22 will be granted leave and will be able to travel home.  Those graduating Dec. 17 will have their leave expire on Dec. 28.  Recruits graduating Dec. 22 will be granted leave that will expire Jan. 2.  Recruits are responsible for paying their own way from RTC to their home and then pay for their way from home to their next command for A School.  Once they are at their next command, they may request to be reimbursed for part of the travel costs.

Respectfully,

Recruit Training command

Traveling home the Sailors will be required to wear their uniforms because they have not phased in at A School.  A letter will be given letting them know what is allowed and not allowed while on Leave.  They cannot drive a car or consume alcoholic beverages while on Leave.

Our Sailors will not be allowed to bring their cars to A School.

This is a work in progress and I will try to answer questions as they become available to me.

Have a good day.  Kathy

Hi! I'm new to this, too. I agree that this is a great site w/ lots of useful info. We're excited about graduation, hope the weather isn't bad for travelling.
Anita,

A group of us are going to try and meet. We are going to try and plan a Meet & Greet. We hope you can join us. When we have more details, we will post them.

It's good to meet you.

My sons in Ship 03 Div 024 and I've read all your's and the others posting on this page and I have to say THANK YOU!!! I'm still waiting for THAT call from my son!!! sigh.... Wade is his name and he told me in the very SHORT statement on the form letter that he was having issues w/ his phone card. I did give him explicite instructions on my letter back to him so, hopefully I'll hear from him soon!!! ;)

The other reason for the reply is to ask to let me know about the Meet & Greet you all are planning cuz I'll be there and I would love to give you all hugs for all the info so far. I'm a neebie at the Navy life even though my husband is retired AF.

Keep up the GREAT Info!!!
Laura (lilmac)
Laura,

Thank you, you are so sweet. There are so many great ladies on here, and I'm just as grateful to them. Everyone is a wealth of information, so we all get the info we need, as soon as we can find it.

I hope you get your call soon. I know those phone calls are a little tricky sometimes.

We will post our information about the Meet & Greet, when we firm up our plans.

Good to meet you. Btw, I'm a newbie too, but kinda put into it full force with my son and my daughter's bf in the Navy now. It's an awesome family to be in. ((hugs))

Got his call yesterday afternoon, wooo whoo!! But, he was pretty emotional. He says its been very tough but, he's pushing through. I stayed calm and talked him through it and reassured him on his goals and that he can make it though this tough time. Then after I hung up I lost it, darn kids!! :)
Awww, Laura,

It is so hard to keep it together while we are talking to them. I totally understand! I think our children are the strongest people I know and I told my son that yesterday too. (He called me yesterday) He choked up, too while he was talking to me.

It is so wonderful to hear their voices, isn't it?

((hugs)) to you. I'm glad that he is doing well.

Betsy
Its so nice they were able to call; its probably their first opportunity to be able to let down a little bit and I believe show some of their emotions. On top of that, they are tired, have blisters, etc. Its been a big week for everyone. Ash said when he had to say good bye, A said "give me a minute while I compose myself" then she lost it and they had a hard time wrapping it up - that's why I only got 1 minute :-)
Welcome to our family Navymom2010
Nice to meet you, Navymom2010.

Jump right in here, there are a great group of ladies on here.

Betsy
Hiya my son is also in div 23 :)
H will have 15 weeks (scheduled) at A school. So she should accumulate some more leave time by hten. at least another short visit before moving on.
How did you find out how many weeks she had scheduled @ A school? Where is she going to school?
It's hard for me to choose between having my son home for Christmas or waiting until after school. I guess it's best if he decides & I just deal with it! Ha!
Btw, congrats on your recruit being in a 900 div.
