Cat - LOL!  Shrinkage!  giggle, snort!   Anyway, I know I will have 3 open seats too.  Have your whole family come to PIR, no need for anybody to sit at the hotel.  I could be wrong, but I really don't think its going to be an issue for our PIR group because we have fewer Divisions and I'm sure there will be a lot of folks that don't go for several reasons.  Economy, weather, etc.

I don't think my mailman would want anyone to see him naked especially that it is also like 14 degrees around here. So Lynne, sorry to say it was not me, however the thought of that happening had me rolling..... LOL

Kathy, that is so sweet of you to offer up an extra ticket. At the begining of this group forming it was I who asked. I have to share my tickets with my ex  who is bringing his wife. My husband (and father of my 13 year old daughter) who has helped raise my son since he was three will be attending especially that he was the one who guided and helped him with the decision to join. It also leaves me with a crying daughter who wanted so badly to attend. Now my husband feels bad and wants to give his ticket to my daughter. Outcome.... they are coming to GL with me along with my mom who will stay with my daughter at the hotel and now that I know he is not G&G, we will suprise my son when we head back to the room. Who knows, maybe with such a small division they will be extra seats for them to attend.

Vibrant, your boy is in good hands. He is also in the safest place he could be right now. I always say that I'd rather him here then hanging out in the streets with his friends... I know you miss him but just think of that handsome man you will be hugging in 36 DAYS!!!! Chin up!! You will be fine, you have us, remember?

Nascar, me too sister. I'm hoping today but it will probably be tomorrow and I am fine with it. Just speaking with him has put me in a comfort zone and I am content knowing that he has adjusted and doing well.

Vibrant - Hang in there Honey!  You're not on that rollercoaster alone.  It's filled with all us Moms and we are holding your hand through all the drops, climbs, and loppty-loops!  I agree this Christmas does seem to be absent all the jolly.  I started to cry last night at Walmart while picking up a Christmas card for my SR.  I bit my lip and just pushed through it.  I hope you've received some letters and a phone call, if not, its something to look forward too.  Hugs!

Lynne,  I'm from WI, patiently waiting for my second letter.  But, I don't think I want to see my mailman naked!

Comment by vibranttk on December 16, 2010 at 10:17am

diannep:   Thanks I do feel like I am on a roller coaster from hell that I cant get off!! I know he is happy and I know this is what he wanted to do so I am supporting his choice. Its just IDK he is 19 but he is my baby and I have never gone this long with out talking to him. I am proud of him but I miss my Travis so much and Christmas coming is making it soooo much harder. I keep crying at the stores everytime I see something that he would enjoy. Boy I am gonna have a hard time on Christmas:)

Janey...there is a ceremony at the end of A-school but it is nothing like PIR and I don't think many parents or families attend...at least that is what I have been told.

Dianne...there you go, just goes to show how quickly the rules change...because we added and subtracted people from lists in the same divisions and different divisions in my PIR group...so it is always evolving I guess

So did y'all see the news today about the mailman who showed up naked to deliver the mail to cheer up a woman in Wisconson who was depressed (so he said)...you know the first thing I thought...okay which one of the ladies on Navy for Moms is looking pitiful...because they aren't getting any mail...lol!  Any confessions ladies...lol!!  Oh come on.....it crossed your mind didn't it...it made me laugh!!

Question:  is there a ceremony of some kind at the end of A school?  just trying to plan

Comment by diannep on December 15, 2010 at 11:46pm

Kathy:  I just read in one of the PIR groups today that a recruit said they were told they CANNOT add names to someone else's list.  But if you are only using 3, that means that you have an extra space...so when they see space is available in the PIR Hall, they should let the extras in.  Sadly, many recruits have no one there for them...

Comment by diannep on December 15, 2010 at 11:44pm

No, Navywife: It wasn't hot in the PIR hall when we were there (Feb)....and they still fainted...about 5 or 6 of them.
