OMG I got my call Friday also and like alot of moms I thought it would make me feel better but I fell apart all over again and was useless for the rest of the weekend but the water works did not start till I hung up the phone which was a good thing.  What a big baby but I can't help it. But it was sooooo goood to talk to him after 3 weeks:)  I sure hope he is not a grad and go!  He is ship 02 div 909 and someone said that the whole division was a grad and go so I don't know.

My son is going to be a corpsman. He says A-school is in GL. He doesn't know if he is g&g. But if he is, will there be a problem seeing him after PIR since he will be staying in GL?

Cat-I got a pretty big headache, too! But not from excitement. I didn't cry while I was on the phone with him, but when I got off... I'm such a crybaby! But at least I was strong for my boy! I knew it was him on the phone before I answered it. My husband didn't believe me. Mom's know!

Thanks gals, I am pretty happy. Kinda still have a sway in my step. LOL. I got so excited when he called that I developed a mad headache and then slept like a baby!! LOL. My husband thinks I am a looney about now. My daughter and I had this stupid grin on and kept starring at each other saying, " that was freakin cool"!!

Ok Ok. I am about to sit down and eat dinner last night and BAM. The phone rings. I GOT A CALL!! He sounds really good. Does not know anything about G&G. He said he will remain in GL for an additional week prior to heading out to Pcola. It was so great to hear his voice. DebBon, I got the call when you did. 20 minutes too. He said he had to walk a ways to make it. Maybe they were together?

Kathy, JaneyJohns:  If they are GradNGo, you can look forward to time with them at the airport...a nice time to enjoy the sailors before they head out.  Hopefully they won't be on a charter flight, which makes an airport visit impossible...I missed the airport visit with my son...I wasn't such an educated Navy mom then and didn't know. Hoping that none of you miss out on that...

Comment by Lynne on December 13, 2010 at 11:40pm

Gina...hold off until you know about the Grad N Go...because in our PIR group...only the 1st two divisions that had sailors going to P-cola were grad n go...the rest flew out a few days later...so hold on!!  Give it a few a more days to find out!!

Comment by Lynne on December 13, 2010 at 11:37pm

Hold on folks...my son went to P-cola and he was NOT Grad N Go....so wait until you hear for sure...mine left the Tuesday after PIR...keep hope alive...lol!!!
