my son is ship 02 div 909 and on the phone he stated that he thought his ship was g n g. sooo bummed. waiting for his letter to confirm but if so, i will be glad we can at least spend a little time with him
Thanks for all your information...I have my airlines and Ramada Inn reservations. It looks as if I need a car reservation too. I am alone and work full time in a trauma hospital and barely have enough time to change my mind when I get home before I fall asleep. The details you all provide are important. Having you to help me understand the details is a God send. Thanks again for trouble free sleep :)
Please remember that just because there are some going to Pensacola who are grad and go does not mean all going there are grad and go. The grad and go sailors can be whole divisions or individuals. If your SR tells you they are grad and go ask if the whole division is. They may or may not know. I will say my daughter was grad and go and it was still very much worth the trip. PIR is amazing. Although I will say I am VERY glad she had PIR in the summer lol. I hope you all have safe travels and not much snow or ice. We got 6 inches of snow Sat night and it is sleeting now. Very unusual for Dec in NC.
My kids had a snow day today and another tomorrow. We spent most of the day making Christmas gifts for family members and we watched a couple of movies. I was even able to get some late order ribbons in the mail for Next weeks PIR. If anyone in this group still wants ribbons to wear to PIR and has not placed an order send me a friend request and I will send you the info. I hope you all have a great night.
So great, DebBon....I bet his voice never sounded sweeter! Bootcamp has a way of doing that...we long to hear their voices! So glad you got that call!
Oh my gosh, I just got off the phone with my recruit. It was so nice to hear his voice. It has been 4 weeks today that he left and I haven't talked with him I was strong and didn't shed any tears while talking with him but after I hung up I did.
It was nice, we got to put him on speaker phone and my husband, daughter and her boyfriend all got to talk at the same time. I'm sure it helped to make him feel better, when he first said hello I could tell in his voice that he was very homesick but just hearing our voices helped.
He got to talk for 20 minutes. It was so nice.
I hope everyone else gets the opportunity to talk to theirs this evening.
The FedEx label is for the pictures or anything else I may buy at the NEX. I wanna get some Navy Gear when I'm there!
Gina- Is the Fed Ex label to ship the picture's back?
Ya well you might want to count me in too Gi cause my son's off to Pcola. He did not mention anything in his one and only letter to me. Have not booked anything yet myself. Plan on making all the reservations next week. I think I will also be heading back home late Sat
Kathy - I may be right there with you with the GnG. My SR is going to Pcola for A School as well. Sigh! I would assume that they would be traveling together, but I have not offically heard that he's GnG yet. I also have not received my phone call or a letter last week. So, I thinking I'm behind in the info. When I book my travel, I going to schedule a return flight for Sat late afternoon.
i'm not sending cookies :) i wish i could, but i know what'll happen. yah, theyre pics of the cookies. i had to explain to his father to NOT send anything like that. in the letter to his father he told him the same. but yah, i meant the pics our son making the cookies. i can see how it was unclear lol.
