Hey Lynne, mine will take A school in Pensacola too.
Sounds like 909 got calls, but if your recruit was in 909 and you didn't get a call your recruit could have had watch been at medical or dental or had had teeth pulled and been SIQ (sick in quarters)... so don't panic. Remember RDCs will often say if you do this you will get a call...remember that saying the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away...kinda the same for RDCs...so if your division you thought was gettin a call and didn't...probably they got it taken away for some minor detail....
The gratitude in those first letters and the apologies are awesome aren't they...momof1..pcola is where my sailor is and loves it....
My experience with calls is they typcially came between 2 and 5 PM CST.
Different divisions have different rules...but Denise is right...they will make friends and my son's facebook page has exploded with people he is keeping in contact with from boot camp...lol
Dawn- I hear ya, when I talked to my son today, he wasn't the lil boy that I worried about flying to Chicago, he sounded more confident and sure of himself. And I think his voice got deeper? HAHA.. Just think when we see them they will be men... makes me want to cry..
Thanks ladies for sharing all your letters. I finally got not 1 but 3 letters yesterday! AND a phone call today!! My son had lots to say in his letters mostly how much he NOW appreciates us & how he wishes he was a better son when he was home. (He really wasn't that bad, typical have to be told a thousand times to do something type of kid) He expressed alot of gratitude & called his dad his hero. (made us both teary eyed). Said mom don't worry I have made lots of friends and he talks to everyone. He mentioned a few boys by name, won't say here though. Said he's a grad n go to Pensacola FL.
It was wonderful to hear his voice... I have a spring in my step today. Thanks again ladies for sending the good vibes my way! :D
No call and no letter this week. High hopes for tomorrow :)
I heard that if someone in their DIV messes up then the entire DIV doesn't get to make calls so maybe something happen.
I feel so lost! Very busy time of year at work and I'm not getting on here enough to keep up! My sone called too! I was on the phone with my husband (I was driving home from work) and the call waiting beeped in... I said "Get that it might be him!" 10 minutes later he called my cell phone! Yah!!! It was wonderful being able to talk but a little sad too. He sounded like a man. Where did my little boy go?!?!
My son said he would be able to call tonight but alas I sit with phone in hand. No call. I get home at about 4:45 pm PST.... that should be about 6:45 central time. Did I miss out because of the time difference...but he could have left a message ?
My son called today but all of us missed the calls, I was working and can not take a cell phone call, since I drive school bus that is a good idea, my husband can not take personal calls on his job and even though I send my youngest a text with the area code, he missed the call because he had to use the bathroom....
He sounded tired and bummed out. Hopefully he will get a chance to call us again soon but not while we are working...
when it rains it pours! got 3 letterss and my phone call!!! Kathy my son is door opener with yours! He said all the N4M boys know who each other are because of our letters! lol I thought that was kinda funny! he said "yeah mom we know you all are talking and who belongs to who" My son is grad and go too. his A school is in great lakes. he also had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled plus 2 other teeth. He will get two new teeth in A school! What a great day!
