just heard from my husband :D he's doing great. said they have to run like 1/2 a mile before their 1-1/2 mile tho lol. but yay!!!!! i heard from him
Kathy- I did too! It was great to hear his voice. Is it ok to pm you?
So, I just finsished my call with my son! He sounded so tired. Said they're supposed to get 8 hrs sleep but that doesnt happen, especially with the ironing duty in the middle of the mornings. Asked if he was still glad he joined. His reply "It's just something I have to finish mom and at least I know I'll be helping people, our country". Encouraged him saying that boot camp is the tough part and once in A school things will be so much better. He told me he thinks he knows the mom with a daughter I mentioned on here and that she seems cool but they really aren't supposed to make friends with any of them there because it's not about friends but just doing your job and doing things right. No real time to "make friends". My daughter will be bumming because she left 20 min before he called. His brother got to talk for a couple minutes too. Talked about a total of 10 min or so. so if you have things to say or ask specifically you might want to write them down. I asked about his paychecks and if he opened a military account as was suggested to them and he said yes but after they take out all the expenses for their clothes etc there wasn't much left out of the first check. Kind of a disappointment for him considering how hard he's been working. OK, hope you all hear from your loved ones too.
Denise- I'm happy to hear that about MS. Do you know how much freedom, such as phone calls they get?
I just got off the phone with my SR. He sounded good. The mail "really" means a lot to them.
Cat- I hope you got your letter today.
Denise- My son is heading to MS after PIR.
Denise- Is your son in Seabee school in Mississippi?
Yes...he put in his letter, to be home on Dec 10 from 6-7pm eastern time that he would be calling. I believe other mother's who got a letter yesterday got the same message. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thank you for the hug Gina. This waiting for my SR phone call at 6pm is driving me crazy. I'm trying to keep myself busy, but I find myself just staring at the clock.
Yes,Lynne..Fort Lee, Virginia, only, according to my SR whom I JUST SPOKE TO...YAY!! He has no news on that yet. Ladies, there are SR's that do not get any mail, so did we figure out if or how we could get something there to these guys?
LOL-Cat CS=Culinary Specialist...my SR's rate. Their A School has been at
