For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

His letters have been short but it's enough to let us know he is doing good! He didnt say anything about a call but since some of you mentioned getting one tonight I'll make sure I'm home from work early today just in case!!!

Guess they can feel the love. I am so happy that we have this support group to help each other through this process and journey together. I have written a letter every day since he left and sent funny cards also a lot of encouraging quotes, thoughts. He specially liked the one that was "if you're going through hell, keep going." He got a chuckle out of it.

He said things are getting better since P days are over, but not getting much sleep. Said making really good friends, chow is great, favorite 3 times a day. Said not to worry about him, said it's hard being away from home, but they're all helping each other stay strong. Letter was dated 12/5, said last letter he rec'd from me was 11/20. Mail must be coming & going slowly. Anyway he sounded great, so I'm great & can't wait until he gets more of my letters, so he doesn't feel so out of the loop. Maybe a call on the 13th. Waiting patiently!

I recieved my letter from Amber.. she was in great spirits and said she has 4 different jobs, all is going smoothly, and that she will be in the front row of graduation holding one of the flags her division wins!! Yay I am so proud of her!! I cant wait till January 21st!! said she enjoys Sundays no yelling! lol! I hope everyone has gotten their letters! Have a great day! Gayle

Then it starts all over again as you wait for the next letter. I think as mother's were used to knowing what's going on at all times. To going to not having a clue, is hard.
