Donna, thanks for sharing. Hope you get that call!
DebBon- I also believe that they all feel the love from home. I also have written letters everyday and asked that he share all the uplifting and motivational quotes I have attached.
Dawn, thank you for your thoughts. I do hope it arrives today!!
We got a letter yesterday and he also sent one to his grandparents, they were so glad he thought to send them one. His letters have been short but it's enough to let us know he is doing good! He didnt say anything about a call but since some of you mentioned getting one tonight I'll make sure I'm home from work early today just in case!!!
Cat - Mail from me to NY takes a day... so fingers crossed for you today!
Thank you everyone for sharing. I also got teary eyed when I read about them reading letters and getting all teary eyed themselves. Guess they can feel the love. I am so happy that we have this support group to help each other through this process and journey together. I have written a letter every day since he left and sent funny cards also a lot of encouraging quotes, thoughts. He specially liked the one that was "if you're going through hell, keep going." He got a chuckle out of it.
We got our first letter today. I cried & giggled a little. He said things are getting better since P days are over, but not getting much sleep. Said making really good friends, chow is great, favorite 3 times a day. Said not to worry about him, said it's hard being away from home, but they're all helping each other stay strong. Letter was dated 12/5, said last letter he rec'd from me was 11/20. Mail must be coming & going slowly. Anyway he sounded great, so I'm great & can't wait until he gets more of my letters, so he doesn't feel so out of the loop. Maybe a call on the 13th. Waiting patiently!
Yes the day was today!! I recieved my letter from Amber.. she was in great spirits and said she has 4 different jobs, all is going smoothly, and that she will be in the front row of graduation holding one of the flags her division wins!! Yay I am so proud of her!! I cant wait till January 21st!! said she enjoys Sundays no yelling! lol! I hope everyone has gotten their letters! Have a great day! Gayle
LOL thanks for the smiles ladies!!!! i enjoy hearing the letters and news! I cant wait to share some back!
Your welcome Laura. I know what it's like. You live through everyone else's son's/daughter's letters, until you get your own. Then it starts all over again as you wait for the next letter. I think as mother's were used to knowing what's going on at all times. To going to not having a clue, is hard.
Oh, I forgot to tell you that he did get his wisdom teeth out...said it wasn't too bad and he was happy that he got some time off to recover :)
