Hi everyone. I just wanted to give you all an update ~ I received one single envelope today with FOUR letters inside! They were dated between Nov. 30 and Dec. 5 and postmarked Dec. 6. My son all is good and all the guys in his division are really working well together. He said that his bunkmate and the two guys beside them were all sitting around reading their letters from home and he said when he looked up, they were ALL teary-eyed! I think he is adjusting well and he thanked me over and over again for all of the cards/letters that I have sent. I'm just gonna keep on writing until I get to see him again in January! He told me that he would be calling Friday around 6pm and I am so excited! I can't hardly wait!
My first letter came today. Son was in good spirits...acknowledged the hard work they do and satisfied with his work and progress. It was three pages and much more than I ever expected. I am so happy for him. He will call me this Friday night (he even told me which phone number of mine he will use.) I am content.
christine- thank you for sharing your letter! i am anxiously waiting on mine, i wonder if my son had his teeth out! lol So many thoughts run through my head on what is going on and what they are doing. It is so nice to have this site to feel connected in a way! thank you
I got a letter from my son today. From the time line of when he left, to when he got my letters. The mail was held back for a little over 2 weeks. So Cat and Momof1 hang in there. He also said to stay by the phone on Friday that he would be calling. I had missed his ..."I've arrived" call. That was devastating. That won't happen again. Thanks to call forwarding. He gave an example of a typical day. They wake up between 5-6am..shave..brush teeth/hair..wear the uniform of the day..breakfast..class or PT..marching..lunch..drilling..studying..dinner..shower..then I.T. (intense training) if they've messed up. Then late night ironing. Which is a random half hour between 10pm-5am. He said about 30 recruits in his division had to have their wisdom teeth out. My son alway's closes his letter with a caricature of himself. The first letter, he was wearing prison stripes with a ball and chain attached to his ankle. His hair was bearly visible and he had a frown on his face. That just broke my heart. Today's caricature he had on a navy t-shirt and shorts, his hair was longer and he was smiling...lol I'm glad he's happier now.
P.S. You have to love their new legible handwriting.
hey there! recieved my first lettter from my sister today, said she is doing good! i know she can do it! excited to see her next month. (:
Found this while search for misc stuff! thought i would share!
