Yay...form letter finally arrived. Guess what...PIR date of 1/28/11 was scratched out and overwritten with 1/21/11! Also found out all the letters weve been sending were to the wrong address...provided no less by the recruiter. I hope everything that I've already mailed finds it way to him anyway. I'd hate for him to have nothing on his first mail call.

Don't worry...we all received those letters it has to do with when the security measures go up due to terrorist concerns...you know us mommas are scary, scary people...lol!! Seriously though...the few days prior to my sons PIR was when the planes were headed to Chicago with bombs int he cargo planes...they were actually stopped in London and Dubai and so they were on heightened secruity at the base...but guess what we all got in no problem...so relax...don't worry...be happy...try not to stress out anymore than you need to...lol!!!

Division 57 and 58 update: Okay y'all since the RTC guy and I previously bonded over another topic which got greatly out of hand about battlestation times I decided to call up "my old buddy". I was just glad he didn't say "you again". I pleaded my typical ignorance and in my best southern style (which takes a bit of doing since I was raised in North Dakota) asked if he just might could clarify for me this issue about divisions 57 and 58 in ship 11. I explained that some of my mommas, wives and girlfriends might have to forego coats for PIR because they were going to be paying big penalties X2 to the airlines and they may become snow statues walking from their cars to the Great Hall and wouldn't that be sad if their sailor had to thaw them out to hug them. I was pretty sure that wasn't covered in the official code of conduct. Well after he got done laughing, he put me on hold and verified that division 57 and 58 are graduating on 1/28. He also said he would call me in the morning after he spoke to the lovely RDCs to insure that the recruits write home to their mommas and honeys...lol!! Okie dokey...think that about covers it!! have a good night y'all!!

Penny I had originally RSVP for the 1/21 meet/greet then i cancelled it and was waiting for the 1/28 meet/greet then when we got our 1/21 date on the form letter i rsvp'd again for 1/21. I may just leave myself RSVP'd for everything and call it a day...oh and I'm staying in 1/21 and 1/28 PIR until I get some sort of real confirmation of what is truly happening. I'm thinking 1/28 though :-( UGH round and round she goes..where she stops NOBODY KNOWS!

Yours is not the first division that ended up with the flu - must be horrible! Good for you on the letters; I know they must feel like a God-send for sure.

Yahoo, got 4 letters today! Now I can breath! My son sounded strong, Said food was good, but not as good as my home cookin! (I needed that). Said he was getting tired of getting yelled at. He said all of the boys in his Div got the flu, and all got shots and are better now. Lot's more....but said also, he wants lots of letters! So keep writing moms!

LOL Penny, hopefully you don't hug the wrong Sailor at PIR...

Still not trusting that they know what they are talking about. How about you? I'm always in the wrong lane on the freeway, at the supermarket and on the receiving end of my son getting erroneous PIR date information. So, how is Murphy's law going for you today?
