It was about 4 days after I got my letter that The Box arrived. It was a pleasant surprise because I knew looking at it he had arrived safely and that things were as they should be. :)

Alisha my son left on the 22nd and I just got the address yesterday from the recruiting officer. I still have not received his personal belongings, I am hoping they will arrive one day this week. It is very hard not hearing from him because he was a momma's boy. We did everything together right up until the day I dropped him off at the recruiting office. My life has not been the same since he left. However, as hard as this is on me I keep thinking about how hard it must be on him. He has never been away from home. At least I have the support of my family but he is with no one he knows.

Yesterday I mailed a card and a letter to my sailor recruit at bootcamp. At the end I wrote a couple of jokes I read on another web site. He's the one going through this physical and mental challenge, not me, so I figured he could use a good laugh at the end of the day :)

Hi alishanicole- My son has been gone for almost two weeks. i still randomly cry. i wait by the phone even knowing he can't call yet and send letters every other day knowing he hasnt gotten any of them yet. It is hard but i do what i can to write him all the time and tell him how proud i am and count the days til PIR. the not knowing is hard but this is a great place to feel connected to our future sailors and to get to know the families of other recruits!

Oh my goodness y'all are chatty or is it just because I have been sick and not up to reading that much on the puter ;) Thank you for the information on the pic's I started talking with my husband and broke down in tears. Our son called to let us know he arrived at the base but it was 1 am and he left a message on my hubby's cell phone. He saved the message and we listen to it often. I am going to make our reservation for the Ramada and a rental car. I am not worried about driving in the weather, since I grew up in MN I am kind of use to snow, ice and crap weather like that .. not so much the cold any more but it will be fine.
What does N4M mean?
