Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by DawnMomOfSR Ship 02-Div 909 on November 28, 2010 at 1:25pm: Jessica, My son is going Nuke and already went through some clearance where neighbors, teachers and I think friends were interviewed in person. However, no one (other then the recruiters) ever spoke with us. He was surprised he never heard anything about his clearance status, but I guess maybe it's because the process has not completed?

Is there public transportation or do i dare rent a car and hope it doesn't ice or snow? We don't have much in the way of public transportation here in FL so this is all new.

I haven not made any travel plans just yet. Want to hear from my boy first. I will probably book everything next week. Hope all is doing well. And I hope we all recieve a letter this week.

We miss him so much and are excited for this date. Even though I wont be able to be at the PIR, I will have everyone in my hearts and prayers.. So excited to have a date that the family will be able to see him!
