Good Morning All, Hope everyone is doing well. I recieved my form letter yesterday and it was wonderful to finally get some word for my son. He to sounded good. The 21st is confirmed and I believe I am leaning towards staying at the Ramada. Can't wait for PIR

Kathy - I'm so sorry! He knows you love and support him, possibly just hearing your voice on your voicemail message brought him comfort too. Keep sending him letters. I finally got my letter today and I only got a couple of sentences, but it was nice to get it.

My son is in the same division as yours. I haven't heard a word. I looked at all the Thanksgiving photo's/video's. He wasn't in any of them. My son goes to the Mississippi navel base after boot camp. he is a BU....builder.

Kathy..I'm so sorry that you missed your son's call. Unfortunately, I know how you're feeling. I missed my son's "I'm here" call. Hang in there...January will be here before "we" know it. You did a great job on the counter...thank you!

I'm sorry! I have reserved the remodeled area of the Ramada...My son's graduation is 1/21/11. My comment meant to say that there IS a remodeled area since some of the comments previously made about the Ramada.

I am in the remodeled area of the Ramada Inn. They have remodeled a whole wing. The difference in price per night is not much and since the Ramada discounts rates for the family of the recruits it was not really an issue to get the updated room.

My recruit is actually a sailor. I am one of the seasoned moms along with Dianne and Jessica who help out with PIR groups although I am truly the newbie because my son just PIR'd Nov. 5th, so I still have a lot to learn as well. It is really fresh in my mind the frustrations and pitfalls of waiting and counting on those calls and letters. My sailor is currently in Pensacola at A-school. He is AE which is Aviation Electronics and is on hold until after Christmas for class. However, he is having the time of his life there. He went to dinner sponsored by the USO yesterday and then went boogie boarding....oh to be young again....lol!! But, guess what he calls his momma everyday and sometimes twice...so keep your hopes pinned on A-school because one thing you can count on....they learn to appreciate their families while they are in boot camp!!
