Kathy, can I make a suggestion...why don't you open a discussion forum above for each of the divisions you know are in this PIR so far...then people can find each other and yet still stay together in this main group??

Okay I hate to burst y'alls bubbles but the truth is it is ABOUT the third week which could mean the fourth week or later. Every RDC is different. Some divisions get phone calls soon and often. Others get phone calls rarely and when they do they are short. I am not trying to be a party pooper but don't get your heart set on phone calls, because you may be sorely disappointed. Phone calls can be taken away fairly quickly for disciplinary purposes and it stinks...so I am just warning you. I hope each get many many phone calls, but better to be prepared for the worst and suprised by the best.

Ellen, we just got our "letter" today, too! (S7 Div51) Our PIR date is confirmed for the 21st also! Good to finally get the official notification. He sounded good when he wrote at the bottom of the letter. It was wonderful to get it! I was reading reviews for that Ramada, on Trip Advisor. Yes, they were complimented highly on their staff and catering to Navy families. However, most comments said it really needed refurbishing (paint coming off, rust, nasty carpet) and the rooms and halls had a funny odor. Most people just said it smelled. I noticed the reviews were from Oct. '09 thru July '10. Does anyone know if it has been updated, or at least cleaned? I was wondering about staying at the Navy Lodge. Anyone know anything about that?

Kathy- i made reservations for ramada. I liked the fact they have a resturant, pool and shuttle to the base! Plus i cant wait for the meet and greet the night before for the parents.
Chritstine- My phone is never far away from me either, hoping and waiting for that 1st phone call.

Hi Chew92 and Kathy/ship02Div 909. I am not sure where I will be staying, first need to figure out if my husband will be able to join me for the PIR. Part of me wants to make all reservations right now but another part of me says to hold off and see how my son is doing in a few weeks. I am so conflicted right now.

Kathy...Thank you for all your help. That was quite the Thanksgiving dinner menu. My son's recruiter said...sometimes..if the division has done well, they will allow them to call home for Thanksgiving. That didn't happen. I'm just happy that he was able to have Thanksgiving dinner.

Wow your group is growing and you have officially made it through your first little bump in the road...Thanksgiving...you have much to be thankful for...bet you didn't know that...both you and recruit have made it this far and you only have 56 days to go...you can do it...we will have fun...maybe a few tears and thats okay...but you like many who have gone before you like Jessica, Dianne and I are going to help you along on your journey. I am so excited to get to know you and your recruits. Have a great eveningm get some rest, because tomorrow it's back to our regular, rigorous schedule, of worrying, wondering, learning, questioning, staring out the window watching for the mail, and doing the mundane tasks of everyday living...see you tomorrow!!!
