Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Well my room is booked! looking at enterprise for cars....joined the discount club but cars were around $30. does that sound right? i keep forgetting all the sales tax too! not use to that living in Montana.

just found the toll free # for the Ramada (866) 209-4045. If you book online use the code LPNN for the PIR graduation discount. This is on the flyer (MWR) the RTC sent with the letter regarding the PIR date. Good info and comparisons of lodging.

I just made my reservation at the Ramada arriving 1/20 leaving 1/24/11. They were so nice. They discount the rooms for the Navy parents coming to PIR and they host the Meet and Greet with warm snacks and 2 drink tickets Thursday night 1/20/11 before PIR. What's not to like about this place.

Kathy---thank you sso much! I told my son this website was a lifesaver and a way to feel connected to him. (in a letter) My sons friend just left bootcamp and said he didnt get to call home til about week 3.

I just got my letter! Ship2 DIV 909 with PIR 1/21/11. I have to type it so it will become second hand. I'll be coming from Oakland, CA for PIR. I've never been to Chicago or the Mid West. I am ready for my adventure. I'll be alone but not shy or fearful. I love meeting new people and seeing new places. Wishing our kids the best at all times and a successful BC. Thanks you all for being here.

Thanks for starting the PIR group Kathy! great point about a resturant in the hotel. I honestly have not looked to much yet. I washed box contents last night and put on his navy hoodie after work tonight! he will get a kick out of it. Oh I miss my boy! But I so look forward to January and meeting the families face to face! I am so thankful for this website!
