Ceremony was sooo beautiful and when the vocalist sang, it brought a tear for a minute..........my sons choice of food was Red Lobster (which was yum).  After we ate we hit the hotel and just hung out together and we all sat in the hot tub and swam and visited and hugged alot.  We had to have him back at base by 7:30 at his request so he could double check things etc before he had to muster.  His flight was to leave at 2 am saturday morning and he stated we werent to meet him there because there was a possibility we might not actually meet up with him once in the airport and the time could be short etc if we did find him.  It was hard to let him go and considered keeping him but awol would not be good so we hugged and said goodbyes and love yous.  For those that had the full weekend,,,,,you were so lucky.  My son made the comment on the way to lunch that we were like candy to him (that he wasn't able to have for a long time) but that it'd be taken away from him again real soon.  I'm glad I was able to meet so many moms....and dads and sailors.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express and I asked if we could stay in the Lounge area until we needed to return our Sailor to they said absolutely, then we will make our 1 hour trip home. So if anyone needs a place to watch the game in warmth come on over. They said it's common area feel free to use it.

We are considering going to Applebee's to watch the game, then return to base in due time.

I'll have to record the game. We'll be driving our Sailor back to Base tomorrow after a wonderful Liberty weekend together.

Blessings to each of your sailors as they all head off into different directions to continue their Navy career.

Too Tall's Mom:  SO glad that you enjoyed the ceremony. It is impressive...youtube doesn't do the PIR ceremonies justice!

HOOYAH!

Sisters, what a glorious day! Our young men and women were stellar.  How dignified the ceremony was.  Sam, Dianne and Cat, thank you for all your posts.

Congratulations to all of the families.  Our nation is blessed to have such a fine group of sailors.  We are blessed with such a wonderful nation.

Love to you,
