Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 039 and 040

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hey Ship 6 moms - hope everyone had a chance to talk to their kiddos this weekend.  If you haven't it will come soon.

Is this everyone's first time with BC?  It has been awhile since my first son was at GL - many things have changed, but the emotional roller coaster is still the same!  Hang in there everyone - December 11 will come quick and will be an amazing day!

BeckyP, yes this is my first experience with RTC. Phone call was geat but he's homesick & and I cant help, but other than that he's doing well. Says food is good. Ship06 Div 40.

Ship06 div39 got to speak to my son saturday it was great.gets his wisdom teeth removed next week.said food was good.bed time at 9or10.he misses subway lol

Ship 6 Div 040  Yes, we talked to our son Saturday morning.  I was so excited when I saw the area code 847 on my husband's phone!!!  The phone connection was bad and it was difficult understanding him at times which made it very frustrating!  He tapped the receiver against his palm and it sounded better.  This is our first BC experience.  I have peace about him being there...  he was totally ready for this.  Looking forward to PIR.  Wish we could see him at Thanksgiving, but it's too costly to do 2 trips from California!  I know he will be treated well for the holidays =^).  I so appreciate this website and knowing that other moms know what each other is going through.  Thanks to all for sharing your hearts.

BeckyP, this is my first time with BC...  And my call on Saturday was great!  Not that long, as he was able to call his father as well.  He sounded great and said it was cold.

Hello ladies, anyone have a SR. heading to Pensacola for AM "A" school?

I believe my son is going to A school in Pensacola.  He is 06/040.

My sailor is!

Is anyone from 06/040 having Thanksgiving with their SR??

Yes we are going to go up for Thanksgiving - we are fortunate enough to only be 3 hours away.  Are you going?

That's awesome BeckyP... I wish I could go, but I live in California and it's quite expensive to fly there during that Holiday.  I'm hoping my son will get sponsored by someone and get to enjoy the holiday away.

Good Evening Ship 6 moms!

Hope everyone is having a good evening.  I'm still waiting for my first letter.  My son said when he called Saturday that he had written to me - so that darn mailman better be delivering it soon!!!  I'm not sure, but i think mail leaving Illinois and coming to Indiana routes through California!  It takes longer for me to get mail from GL, than some of you farther away.  lol

Hoping everyone is feeling better since getting their phone call.  I know many have commented on their kid being sick.  I think that is the norm.  Rest assured if it is beyond just the common cold - they do take very good care of them.  My oldest son ended up with pneumonia and a stay at the hospital, but he said they treated him well.

Keep writing letters to them - I have on good authority (son #1) that the letters from home is what keeps them going - even dorky letters from their mom!!!   If your SR is not a great letter writer or doesn't let you know the things you are dying to know - try a form letter - with a self addressed envelope.  That's what got me through the last time.

Good night ladies - sweet dreams!
