NavyChief:  You don't need the gate pass if you take a hotel shuttle to PIR.  An alternative to driving and parking at Metra.

Celia:  If he has a very late flight, you can probably sightsee a bit in the area.  Ask in the USO.  They usually say yes, but be back 2 hours before flight time.  They just cannot miss this flight...big trouble if they do.  So I think I would do early morning sightseeing and then be back at the airport long before flight time if you decide to do this.

The incident that FTLW is talking about:  There was a sailor who was at RTC past when most had left.  He was in barracks pretty much alone.  No one woke him up for his bus/flight...he missed it.  They forgot about him.  He was mortified...was in trouble with his A School command, but worked it out.  His mom was on here having us all pray HARD since it scared him so badly.  So they don't mess around if the sailors don't show up when they are supposed to.  So just play it safe!

Ok, FTLW.  Had me laughing...said you "teSted" Sarge...I'm thinking...how did she do that???  Ok, yep, you meant "teXted!" HA!  I agree with you....from all of the rave reviews he gets from the ladies who have used his transportation (GL sailors too), he is the best!

Residence Inn and Springhill Suites are very close.  Courtyard too.
