Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". It would be terrible if for some reason you were late, I wouldn't risk Murphy's law. In fact if your Sailor was late...I don't even want to know what would happen...as far as consequences...I think diannep or one of the other veteran moms know of an actual incident.

The USO has snacks and places to relax...and there are restaurants.

We're so excited, hope we all get some sleep! Especially my husband since he'll be the one driving lol...Safe travels everyone, looking forward to meeting you all!

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on December 15, 2011 at 12:34am: NavyChief - Your password is on the form letter that you first received from your recruit...now Sailor...remember to type it in all CAPS.
For parking outside of RTC. It is the Metra parking lot. When you turn onto Ohio to go to RTC Gate 8, instead of making a slight right into RTC, continue straight...UT will take you right into the Metra parking. The spaces are numbered...remember the number as I believe the ticket machine will ask for that. The ticket machine is back at the entrance of the parking lot closest to the tracks. Give yourself extra time to walk into RTC.
