Celia NJ, our sons are in the same ship and division. He didn't mention the water bottle in his quick note. It was post dated 10/28 and he said they had been up 50 hours before they finally got to sleep, and at the time he was writing it was only day 3. He did add that he was doing fine but that it was tough.

FTLW, is ship 4 convalescent or overflow? I think you mentioned something about that earlier. Thanks.

Thank you for explaining that LaLa...It does make sense...I was just getting on the PIR groups when the break came in June and didn't notice that when they didn't ship recruits in one week. Of course NOW it comes to mind that you have mentioned that they sometimes have two 900 divisions! LOL

I didn't check back on the other PIR groups...sorry Navymom2011!  I'm just going to delete my post to you about that so no one stumbles onto it. So stick with the 904, K?!

Wow, I wasn't gone that long but there was sure a lot to catch up on in this group.

First, I agree it is best to wait on the form letter to start mailing letters to your recruit. Sometime the info from the recruiter can be off a little bit and that could delay your mail. Also, they hold the mail for the first 2 weeks anyway. They don't get mail until they are finished with processing days and then they have to train someone to handle the mail since it is a federal job. So, even if you sent the letters early with an address from the recruiter the recruits won't get them any faster  than if you wait on the form letter.

FTLW- As far as the 900 DIV's. I believe they do not skip the numbers. They don't necessarily correspond with the training group but most of the time they do. Because of the PIR ribbon orders I have kept a list of what all the training groups have been for well over a year. They often have more than one 900 DIV in a PIR group and the do sometimes skip a 900 DIV. March 4th PIR had 3, 914, 915, & 916, April 4th PIR group did not have a 900 DIV at all and April 8th had 2, 920 & 921. So, there should be a 904 DIV in December. I hope that makes sense.

Try not too worry too much ladies, Write every day if you can, they live for mail call and say it is very much like Christmas. And as soon as you get the form letter start sending the letters out. Definitely don't start making any plans for travel until you have that form letter.

Thank the Lord I received our letter today! Our son is in Ship 11 DIV 017, graduation date Dec 16th. He wrote "Miss You ALL" on the envelope...I cried all the way to the house from the mailbox! Does anyone know if it is possible to have more than 4 guests? Do children 2 years old count as one of the 4 guests.

Yay!!! We got our letter today, she is Ship 11 Div 18 graduating Dec. 16th!!  Her note on the back was "miss you, I love everybody.  Not too bad here xp! lol" and then a little arrow pointing to what could look like a tear spot that says "this wasn't me :)" she wanted me to know she wasn't crying :)

We got our letter today too! Our son is  Ship 11 DIV 017!!  So nice to get a note from him on the envelope!!

Comment by CeliaSews on October 31, 2011 at 5:49pm
I received the letter today, too!!  Ship 04 Div 019.  You were right, FTLW! His note sounds like he's pretty homesick...and he said someone stole or threw away another shipmate's water bottle.  No one fessed up, so he says they're "screwed" when real BC begins.  Yikes!

It seems like a lot of hurry and wait and then wrong information....I am hoping it is 905the then...hard to believe the recruiter read it wrong, but I guess I will have to wait yet another day....thanks for the heads up!
Comment by My son (ship 09, Div 023) on October 31, 2011 at 4:43pm

I haven't received the form letter yet but our son's recruiter called and told us he was in Ship 09, Div. 023 so after reading some posts here I am guessing he may be a 12/29/2011 PIR. Waiting.......
