They are all told that they will leave at 1 or 2 am but they don't actually get their flight info until the day before or morning of PIR. Then they will know for sure the airport, the flight and the time of the flight. They could be at the airport at 2 am and not have a flight until late afternoon and they could even have one on Sunday or get delayed for several hours due to weather. If at all possible leave your Saturday open to spend the day at the Airport with your Sailor :-)

I FINALLY GOT THE CALL - he's a Sailor!  And, since he needed to go and talked to somebody to give more info for his security clearance he got more chance to talk.  As far as the Pensacola thing goes, he says he's flying out 12/17 - got his ticket - so that problem has been averted as well!  YIPPEE!!!  BTW does anybody know if I take a shuttle from the hotel if he can come back on the shuttle (his leave starts right after graduation).

My son is heading to Pensacola and said he's heading to the airport at 1:00 a.m. Saturday.

Hi all, I wrote a little jingle/song this morning and thought I would share it with everyone so it will be stuck in your heads too lol. It is to the tune of Santa Clause is coming to town. I hope you like it, It won't be long until you are packing and going to PIR :) even though it feels like a long time. I hope it passes quickly.

Just got the call from my SR...he's a sailor! This has been such an incredible journey for all of us. Thanks to everyone on here who has been there for each of us!
